Megatokyo still exists?  I remember reading that...13 years ago.  Then it completely went to shit when Largo left the staff...

The central symptom in Cotard's syndrome is the delusion of negation. Those who suffer from this illness often deny that they exist or that a certain portion of their body exists.

Does this apply to individuals who intentionally convince themselves that they do not exist so to get closer to the noumenon?

I have a similar sensation when jarringly awoken in the early morning, except its not that I think I'm dead, but more like there's a separation between my consciousness and my personality. Meaning I wake up and I know I'm awake, but I don't remember who I am, where I am and what I am doing. The feeling only lasts a second then my personality reloads and I remember things. I'm sure most people experience this, I just kind of find it fascinating.

I was in the hospital once and it took almost an hour to remember who and where I was. No joke. It was terrifying.

I don't know if this is news, per se, but I don't know where else to put it, and it's interesting.

A discussion with an author of a book on sex in the Arab world.  I don't know if I'd call it safe for work, per se, but it's an interesting discussion on the intersection of religion, sexual mores, culture and human rights.
