The last true RE game was Code Veronica.

Didn't most people became tired of the old style of gameplay with Code Veronica?

Also, what about Revelations for the 3DS? That was suppose to be a mix of the old and new in one game. Some fans were pretty happy with it.

I wouldn't argue about this being an improvement over 4 and 5 in terms of control, Agent D.  The characters are much more responsive when compared to the shambling tank messes of the previous games.  That said, they slide around the environment like Agent 47 in Hitman 2, and it feels terrible when trying to avoid zombies on the ground.  I'm not sure how they managed it, but RE4 still has the best shooting mechanics in the series.  RE6 just feels too slippery when you consider the precise shots necessary to pinpoint weapons, legs, etc.  As for the melee stuff, I just can't seem to figure the whole thing out.  I end up attacking too short or running straight into the enemy and missing my chance to do some serious damage.  It wouldn't bother me if it was a compliment to the shooting, but you have to use the melee mechanics otherwise you run out of ammo in about thirty seconds.  I'm glad they're using a stamina bar to keep you from spamming those attacks, but it still feels awkward and counter intuitive to me.

Dead Space 2 just plays better, and Isaac feels far more responsive than any of the cast in RE6.  I'd rather hold a trigger to run rather than holding X and potentially skipping into cover, or accidentally quick turning, or maybe leaping over a box.

Its so obviously focused on co-op that it barely feels like I should be playing this solo

Speaking I have NO interest in this game except for co-op play... I'm really happy to see this. :)

Revelations is a great game. I was satisfied with my purchase. I still play from time to time.

Well, the reviews are all over the place.  Guessing this is going to be the most divisive game of the year.

Is definitely not for everyone. And I'm pretty sure a lot of fans are going to hate it more than RE5, though, for all the times I've played the Public Demo I doubt the game doesn't deliver.

I'm very curious to see what they do with the story and characters personally.

Destructoid gave it a 3 out of 10. The review was wrote by Jim Sterling, so I guess I'm not reading than thing.

The only thing that bugs me is the huge QTE presence. Each review states that they went way overboard. It befuddles me that they'd include a heavy dose of something that's been roundly regarded as a lame gimmick for the last several years.

I'm fine with it not being like RE2 because this series has stopped being like RE2 with RE3.
