Ogre Battle would make a great touch game. I have to say, though, the game is freaking hard. It wasn't til just the last couple years that I got a decent handle on how to play it (after failing miserably as a child), and that required a lot of guide reading. Rule #1 is every unit must be flying. MUST BE FLYING. I still haven't beaten it since I bought it on my friend's Wii and beating a level takes like 3--4 hours. He moved away and now has a baby so it doesn't look like I'll be finishing it anytime soon.

The one strategic (or RTSish) element to the game is the handling of alignment which is more of a micromanaging aspect than anything else. I guess the only real strategy for the Ogre Battle games is to know when to liberate towns and to establish and properly deploy units that can do so with some margin of efficiency.
"only real strategy" is an erroneous term. You can't call strategies that you don't like "not strategy", or strategies that are very low difficulty or easy to figure out, etc.

I spy with my little eye, what you did there.
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.
