This is a brand new game right? like a full blown sequel? I have bought every version so far. Love the art, and in terms of content- characters, game modes, story, It really is the most jam packed fighting game not called mortal kombat. I just am a little tired of buying revisions.

I would assume it's a brand new game.  It has 3 new characters, tons of revisions to previous characters as well as new moves, and a new gameplay mechanic - Overdrive.

"Toshimichi Mori (producer) discussed the game's story. Chrono Phantasma will continue the story from Extend, so he suggested that players go back and play through Extend leading up to release.

Regarding the home version (currently confirmed just for PlayStation 3), Mori said that this is currently just in the planning stage. Rather than individual stories for each character, they're planning on having three main stories. In the end, the three stories will come together and show the true ending. You will be able to switch characters as you advance through the story.

Mori assured that the volume will remain at the same level as past BlazBlue home conversions.

Other home modes mentioned by Mori include a tutorial mode and something similar to the survival-like Abyss mode of past BlazBlue games. For tutorial mode, he said to expect more instructor voices."

Blazblue seems overtly complicated to me, and the Drive button really irritates me for some reason. I bought Continuum Shift but then shelved it immediately. Might pass on this since I find P4A to be much more fun.
