Its... A browser game...Squeenix is officially banned from making countdowns. Last time it was to a port, now its to a BROWSER GAME. Square-Enix. You can't build hype to something that really doesn't deserve a lot of hype. Yeah, I've heard World Ends With You was a good game, but you don't need to have a giant countdown to a port. You also don't need to have a giant countdown to a yahoo browser game!

Well I honestly can't say I'm surprised.  This is about what I expected.

Actually it doesn't look half bad for a browser game.  But I'm a sucker for oldschool 4X stuff.

To be honest, I was expecting a mobile or social game, or, the way SE has been going, GREE.

I am a bit disappointed, though.  I would have liked a new SO game.

I guess I'm supposed to sound more like this.

Seriously, though, this is what I expected.

And browser games are a big deal, not just in Japan.  They're cheap to make and anyone can play them (just need a computer with a web browser, no specialized systems, etc), so the potential for profit is huge.

I don't think it's fair to call this a Star Ocean tease.  Yes there were stars...but that's it.  There was literally nothing else to indicate that it had anything to do with Star Ocean.  But a bunch of people jumped to conclusions.

Do you have any idea how many video games are set in space?

They still do good music though. Every year they release a couple of albums that I enjoy.

Not as many as I would like.

Also, ^this. I mean who the hell was expecting Tri-Ace to be involved with this when they're currently busy making Konami's games for Konami?

There was that Star Ocean-ish tech demo a while ago.

Anyone else thinks like me that maybe Square was also testing the water to see if there is actual interest in another Star Ocean game?
