The downsides of going with Sony's handheld...I always wanted to check this game out. I'm sure this game is incredibly hard on an emulator.

I understand sticking with one home console, but given how much more diverse handhelds and how (relatively) cheap they can be I see less reason to stick exclusively to just one of the two. Did nothing else on DS interest you?

On the plus side this means a new arranged album, so that's worth something for those of us that liked the game's music.

I'm 15, I don't get a lot of cash. Therefore I have to stick to one until I can afford another. Next thing I'm getting is an HD tv, then we'll see about finding a super cheap 3ds.

IOS port is super underwhelming, hope thats not all the announce, VITA PORT! cough cough.

I did get worried when no NEW song was featured on the site, thinking it was a remake or port or whatever.  Hopefully that's not the case.
But hey, Squeenix needs a guarantee catch with all the moans and groans "Final Fantasy" evokes these days.

Yep, they're certainly doing the dual screen interface, though it's going to be a bit awkward during certain boss fights.

IOS stuff would not be so depressing if it was not 100% touch screen controls. The only good games I have ever played for it are ones with very simple touch controls like Dungeon Raiders. Any console ports are usually unplayable for me.

TWEWY was mostly touch based anyways...I've heard pretty good impressions from those who have played it, too. Really, it looks like they put some real effort into it this time. I may actually get it now that they've reduced the screens to one, and if I play it on an iPad, I can play it with a bigger screen, hopefully making the action less cramped. I should ask if it has the Japanese voice track, though. The english voices weren't bad, but the characters attached to them were, so I'd rather go as long as possible without understanding the actual story again.

Off Topic, but I just read through the RPG Fan review of the DS version of TWEWY. I like the guarded praise it had. The reviewer obviously liked it, but understood that it had quirks that may not work for everybody. Makes me feel a little less crazy, since it seems like everyone else sees it as the best thing since sliced bread with no possible flaws whatsoever.

I bought TWEWY on my iPad, because it said it was optimized for retina display, and that it was 580 MB.

It was not, and it takes up 2.3 GB. I am not amused.
