Yay!  It's Black Isle!  Without the talented individuals who made the games that they were famous for, since they went off to found Troika and Obsidian and work on other projects!

Yup, Black Isle in name only.  And given Interplay's financial state can they even afford to hire good people?

Wasn't Black Isle originally connected to Bioware? But yeah, if its BI in name only, then its a little too early to get excited. Still, potentially having Bioware quality products without the EA factor is a rather appealing perspective.

BioWare was always a separate company, but they worked with Black Isle, Interplay's internal development house, on BG and BGII.  Many of BioWare's games were published by Interplay.

Sounds about right, BG is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Black Isle. Can't really recall anything else they made that wasn't D&D based (bar Lion Heart or whatever it was called, could still have been D&D under the hood though).

They mostly worked on Infinity Engine RPGs - but their best games (for me) will always be Fallout and Fallout 2.

To this day, I still think the original Fallout is the best post-apocalyptic game ever made.
