Never played it, but I recall hearing that PSP Wizardry was weak by series standards.

Here is a few I would like to recommend myself. I apologize if you have any of these games already.
Ys: The Oath in Felghana ($15) - A really fun Action RPG & its fairly quick on getting you to the game play. Its is about 10-15 hours to complete.
Corpse Party ($20) - I know some are going to call a fanboy for putting this here. Especially because of of my current avatar. But I swear I'm not. If anything, I am more of a Falcom fanboy recently. But anyway, the is writing is great. Like everyone said already its more of Visual Novel with light Adventure elements to it.
Wild Arm 2 ($6) - If you willing get pass it being really easy. Then I highly recommend this. This is my most favorite out of the three Wild Arms games I play.

I think wizardry lols blows. I don't like games with super frequent, annoying random elements
Arcana heart 3 looks cool but I haven't played it. It's a fighting game so I don't think you should worry that you haven't beat the first game
