News story.

Next year, scientists will turn on a high-powered proton accelerator to create mini Big Bangs, so to speak. They want to create small black holes.

It's comforting to know that the chances of this experiment accidently destroying the planet is 1 in a 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 chance. :P

That was a funny thing to say, as a scientist, "Oh yeah, the chances of us destroying the planet accidently are minimal. Don't lose sleep over it".

Between those people and Japan,  I think we're fucked. Screw the nuclear wars and oil running out, they're going to blow up the planet!

I find it a bit funny how we, humans didn't even fully explore and make use of our own galaxy, and go beyond it and they already want to play god and make their own universe. What happened to the whole, living on the moon thing? :p

Let's consider:

1) "we're venturing into new territory. We can't really predict what we're going to find or what's going to happen."

2) "but don't worry, the chances of us destroying the world are slim to none."

...(inferred third statement)..."even though we don't really know anything about the probability of the matter since we have no idea wtf this experiment will tell us."

We're all f***ed. All those 50s Sci-Fi books about us destroying ourselves by accident...yeah. I'll be pissed if they were right.

That all sounded like some kinda weird 'Half-Life' shit to me.  They really shouldn't be fucking around with things they have no clue about.
