How so? I thought Okamiden was excellent. Sure, maybe not quite as jaw-dropping as the original, but that's next to impossible, IMO.

Would be funny (and sad) if this was referring to a remake of SD2 or 3 (and not a new, and likely terrible, game).

Or it could be a false alarm like that Chronobind trademark that ended up being a DLC casino game for FFXIII-2 (and probably the most enjoyable part of FFXIII-2).

I actually hope it is a remake of Secret of Mana. I was just thinking yesterday about all the little flaws the original had that ended up holding it back for me. Most of them were fixed in Seiken Densetsu 3, though, so if it was a port of that game, I'd be fine with that, too. As for a new game...not sure how I'd feel about that. Legend of Mana was the last one I enjoyed. :/

Yeah. I know. But that wouldn't be relevant to the discussion at hand (plus Circle of Mana could actually be the proper western name for SD3 instead of Secret of Mana 2 which breaks the naming convention of the series (minus FFA/SD1) thus far).

That said, it would most likely be made along these lines.
