This is so fucking bought it's not even funny. No wonder Kojima didn't want to waste his time on Rising.

No wonder Kojima didn't want to waste his time on Rising.
As far a as I know Kojima was never all that invested in Rising other than overseeing the project. The game is still very much part of the franchise just like Portable Ops is, but given how PO wasn't directed by Kojima himself he makes like that game doesn't exist even when it was acknowledge in MGS4 as part of the canon of the main series.

I'm having a weird love/hate relationship with this trailer.
On one hand, for the first time since I was 12 a game has actually made 'that much' of a leap in graphical technology to actually 'shock' me; which is a good thing.
On the other, super realistic graphics typically mean 'we're going to try to make the gameplay as "realistic" as possible'; which will probably mean I won't play this game even if you paid me.
I hated MGS 3 & 4 for it's systems. I just want to have fun with the game. I want the omnipresent Soliton Radar system. I want fun, quirky boss fights. I want to actually feel like Snake without having to 'be' Snake. I don't want these annoying "Oh wait, your lighting positioning is 2% incorrect so everyone will see you like they do in real life." I don't want my handicap radar systems removed just because they're not realistic. I don't want to have to fuss and moan over stamina, hunger, and if Snake has taken a crap within the last 5 hours or not. I want to play a

Unfortunately I've only gotten to play the numbered entries. Everything else has slipped by mostly due to bad timing on the part of the cash budget. XD

So far I've only seem the animated gif and I'm already impressed!
MGS is one of my 3 favorite franchises so he didn't need to do much to make me happy but oh man, I can already say I'm much happier now.

I was at the PAX event. Pretty cool. Not sure I have a lot to add, though, since I think pretty much everything that was said there has already been thoroughly covered. I will say that I'm genuinely intrigued by Kojima's emphasis on the open-worldness of the game, since that's something really new for the series.

I have to admit that the intro looks really, really good. If there's one thing I've learned is that you should never EVER trust these "in engine" trailers until its actually out, so Ill wait before I get too excited about the visuals. I just hope the cinematic doesn't also showcase the actual cutscene:gameplay ratio.

A friend of mine has brought to my attention that this is supposed to be taking place like 10 days after peace walker.
....What the hell, did Snake forget to die his hair and come down with a serious throat infection? Hayter isn't voicing this Snake. It's gonna be the dude who voiced Big Boss in MGS4.
