The horrible news.

I know there are a number of frequent visitors to that site here (I've seen some of you in the comments).  It was my favorite English source of Japanese gaming news.  Yeah Siliconera has some, but not as comprehensively.  Visiting Andriasang has been part of my daily routine for years...definitely going to miss Anoop's witty commentary.

I wonder for how long I visited andriasang, I liked the site because it offered news with no bullshit like many other gaming sites are used to do.

I'm bummed as well. I only started visiting Anoop's website within the last month after I saw RPGfan recommend several of his stories as sources for jrpgs. Oh, and If anyone is interested to see how his site evolved over the years check out http://web.archive.org/web/20030405083343/http://www.andriasang.com/. Snapshots taken over the years from old school html to robust php/mySQL speedy news driven blog.

I really do hope someone else takes up the reigns. They really were the best source of Japanese news the industry had.

I loved it, but I preferred Siliconera since it was more West-relevant, and well, a lot being made in Japan is staying in Japan.  Def sad to see it go, but I guess he's moving on.

Definitely sad to see it go.

I hope it's not a sign of the times.

Goddamn. I actually preferred this one over 'the ghost of its former self' Nintendo Power and 'devoured an actually decent TV channel before becoming a mid season filler wasteland' G4TV.

Also over Siliconera due to not having to deal with malware attacks cropping up every so often.

Goddamn.

Some dork named Kevadu started a blog trying to emulate Andriasang's style but I don't know if he's going to keep at it.  Seems like a bit of a flake.

Yikes.

Shame, so many sites on the web use them as a resource that it's going to affect everyone. They were unparalled at covering the little games no one else would.
Run by just one guy, too.
