Not having played KH before, I'm willing to give this a shot.
But is the Gummy ship really as shitty as everyone says?

Remember in Resonance of Fate you could just pack on gun parts to make the stupidest but strongest gun ever?

Well, you can kinda do that with Gummi Ship - and when you do, it's kinda fun to just blast through.  It's never required for anything, so, after you hit the final level (i.e.; you do the gummi levels like 9 times?) it's never needed again -- that might change with trophies though.

Remember the "random" letters that appeared during the credits?  They spell out something like "Next is Kingdom Hearts..." then you get Riku and Sora heading into light, their silhouettes curiously making what looks like a Roman numeral "III"

And unlikely we'd see an HD "collection" without the other three games.  I'm guessing BBS, KHII, and whatever the other one is in a different HD bundle... possibly a year later... meaning 2 years before KHIII, I'm guessing. :P

You're not SERIOUSLY overthinking this, are you? Your assumption makes no sense. So if I were to put Mickey in between the two of them, it'd be a secret hint in Egyptian or something?

Also, the secret message isn't really hinting at this. I'm pretty sure that making a collection like this takes FAR less time than doing a new entry altogether.

You're right, it's no "CONFIRMED FOR SUMMER 2013" type of message.
But it pretty much points to it -- go read on it a little (or see link below).  Besides, what other shitty filler titles they can fit into the series??  So HD titles aside, yeah, I think they're pointing to a KHIII-related message.  I feel like you're attacking my post a bit too hard.

Also, if you do that stupid dive stuff during the credits and hit the glowing letters, you get yet another SECRET MESSAGE about "re-imagining in never before seen detail" or something along those lines.  Now, I haven't solved the mysteries of the Egyptian Hieroglyphics, but it seems to be telling us about the KH HD re-release which, OMGWOW, were just announced.

But even then, I doubt Nomura will give us the Final Mix version and just give us the non-Final Mix version instead.

The PS3 still has plenty of time to live in the market unlike that whole situation with FF Type-0 and the state of the PSP in America. Worse part about Type-0 is that it seems to be that the game is already translated in English...
