It's coming to PS3.

Got to say, I didn't expect that.  This is for Japan, of course, but hopefully Xseed will bring it over.  Why wouldn't they?  They already translated it...

Thus far only FC has been announced, but I can't imagine Falcom would stop there.  Doing FC and not SC would just be mean.  But man, things are getting confusing...Zero no Kiseki is on Vita now, but these remakes are for PS3?  Well, at least Falcom is clearly interesting in platforms that aren't the PSP.  Pretty much anything non-PSP has a better chance of being localized...

Because SCEA are assholes. Which can happen, actually, given they don't have the same requirements in all three regions for release, IE trophy support.

I was looking at the Xseed forums and it seems like this caught them (or at least Tom) by surprise as well.

Actually to me it seems like it'd do better at retail than it did on PSP, assuming fans of a similar-ish franchise (Tales) recently flocked to PS3.
But that would also equal possibly competing with Xillia.

Have any PSP remasters actually be released outside of Japan?  I'm a bit confused on this issue, because around the same time the PSP remasters were announced there was stuff like the God of War Origins collection being released here.  But that's a bit different.  Those were real ports, with trophies and stuff.  PSP remasters are more like PSP games being emulated on the PS3 (though often with HD assets and stuff).  SCEA can be picky about this stuff...

I don't think so. In the Japanese PSP Remaster website shows that only 3 games have been released so far...

if this came to NA i would buy this just to help possibly get the other two parts localized which ever way want, be it psp or psn/ps3.

SCEA can be picky about this stuff...

One of the things I hate about them. And it's helped aggravate a dislike for achievement systems, though this is really just SCEA idiocy rather than an inherent flaw with the system. Well, I guess it indicates how people can get so obsessed that it's actively seen as bad to let releases skip them, but I think it'd be better just to let things sort themselves out and at least allow a digital release.

EDIT: Ofcourse, I could be wrong and other complications were involved with other games, we didn't see very many so it could be either technical issues (saw something mentioned on Neogaf about Ad hoc libraries for Monster Hunters 3 Portable) or simply not existing in English, like that K-On (I think) game.
