And those new games aren't Suikoden anyway.

Tales of Eternia is UK-only, but if you like Tales games, it has some of the best music and combat in that series.

Combat? Questionable (Reid really does all the work, and I think Max and Chat were last minute additions since only their final skills are worth it).
Music? Definitely a soft spot for it there.

ToE was awesome portable gaming as well.

Was FFT-0 pitched at all?
If you have a JPN PSN account, just look at the amount of stuff there you could potentially buy.
I doubt I'd go to Japan for the games since I can't really understand it -- but for fashion and accessories or cool ass toys I'd go crazy.

You mean SaGa 2 or SaGa 3? Because both have had remakes.

[Serious post] Valkyria Chronicles 3, Growlanser 1 PSP, Fire Emblem DS2 (there's a translation coming along), SRW OGs 2 (should be out by now),
and SRW L (I happen to like the series list in this one and its better than K but still made by B-team, no asshat Mist Rex (but it does have the Thundercougarfalconbird original), no GunXSword stomping faces forever :(, and YMMV on Macross F and incomplete EVA rebuild).[/Serious post]

Because there will always be other platforms to port and dump it on. This is SE, they LOVE doing that thing and you must be aware of that, and the allure of getting a "missed game", even without as long a wait as something like FFV, will make it worthwhile. At worst they finally shove one out when we see an iPhone 8, but I hope it doesn't come to that even if it actually would be fitting given the development history.

In all seriousness, I don't think fashion was overly expensive when I visited unless you bought foreign stuff (like what you can get here) which you obviously wouldn't. I only bought the best Engrish shirts I could find plus a cool native one or two.

Game wise, Osu Tatakae comes to mind. Also like you said, Ace Investigations might be good, but probably loses its appeal if you don't fully undersand it I imagine. Depends what you're looking for. Stuff be expensive.
