No; I'm not making that up.

...what that (expletive)!? I'm not really a huge devote fan of the original like some of my family is but...who asked for this? >.< Who green-lit this? Who completely forgot to pass the memo onto the actor playing the 'Old Man' that the performance is supposed to have a subtle nuance to it and less ham-hammy-ham? What's even sadder is there's actually some potential for a good movie judging from the trailer; but key actors and the general 'crispness' of the film ruin it.

I turned it off 30 seconds in.

Even if I acted in that, I wouldn't tell anybody.

Looks like it will suffer some serious sequelitis -- chance of mentioning "you're gonna poke your eye out joke?  98%.

The only reason I even heard of it was my local Vintage Stock has this huge poster of all the DVDs coming out in the next month. I happened to glance over and saw it near the bottom; had to go up point blank and squint just to see if I was hallucinating. Got home, wiki'd it, found out not even Wiki wants to put out info on this thing, Youtube'd it, found that to be the only trailer.

You know it's bad when even modern marketing won't push it. XD

Wow, that's the biggest dislike to like gap I've ever seen on a Youtube video with that many votes. Movie looks like absolute shit, and I legit thought it was a parody trailer made by CollegeHumor up until the end. If only that were the case. I'm not surprised by its existence though; the Christmas movie market is so supersaturated that it has been cannibalizing itself for a while now.

Hilariously enough, there was already a sequel called A Summer Story.

Filmmakers are so reliant on sequels nowadays that they can forget that some have already been made.

I actually thought that was the focus of this post.... now that I realized otherwise... I am disturbed..... certain things should be left untouched and as-is.... no remake nor sequel.... Christmas Story is one of those things.....

Speaking of.... I wonder when this whole western film trend of "lets keep making remakes and sequels instead of anything new" will die down.... It doesn't seem to be losing steam... and what has happened and is happening to some of my favorite 80's horror heroes is just not acceptable.... At least that whole ninja turtles thing didn't come to fruition....
