I'm not ashamed to admit I listened to the two Pondsmith videos like five times. His voice convinces me to love again.

Also, you know why I'm supportin this game, even with no video released? Because you can fucking tell those two guys there are passionate about it. They want to make a good game because they love to make games, and because, as they said SEVERAL times-- they can't wait to play it either! CD Projekt RED all up in here.

Hopefully they do something about the generic names.

Calling your cyberpunk game Cyberpunk 2077 is like buying a soft drink labeled only as Soda. Sure it might be as delicious as Coke...

edit: though I guess it stands out in a ballsy way... I dig it now!

I don't really think they have much leeway there-- the pen and paper game is CALLED Cyberpunk 2020, after all.

Yeah, at best they slap a subtitle on or something. Well, it's not like Dungeons & Dragons RPGs are typically called Dungeons & Dragons, but then you have countless fantasy RPGs and quite a few games based on that license, versus this only having the one game just now. I suppose if more somehow sprang up like D&D they'd eventually demote that to a branding and focus on actual names.

They have so much potential for music in this game. They should call Vangelis. And Daft Punk. And the folks from Witcher 1 and 2.

I haven't played either Witcher game yet (yeah i know) but my interest is definitely piqued for another good cyberpunk game.
I avoid online multiplayer because my brain still works.

To be fair though, we are rapidly closing in on 2020 and we're not even close enough to be considered to be dystopian cyberpunk ready yet. Much like how we wont have Cold Fusion ready to enable our time traveling DeLorieans to both fly and time travel without the need for plutonium/12.1 jiggawatts of lightning by 2015 at the rate we're going.
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. After Deus Ex: Human Revolution a lot of people is in the mood for more cyberpunk.

And Daft Punk.

A cyberpunk game with Daft Punk music? That sounds like a plan.

I liked the song well enough. It's not fitting, but at least it's not some poorly done electronica song like what I was expecting.

“MY NAME IS POKEY THE PENGUIN I LOVE CHESS!! IT IS LIKE BALLET ONLY WITH MORE EXPLOSIONS!”
