Reviving this thread to announce the sequel!

Apparently the sequel to Corpse Party, Corpse Party: Book of Shadows is coming to US and Europe this winter

By what I read in the article the sequel is more like a visual novel. I think this may be for the best because something I didn't like much in the original were those chase sequences.
Funny this is announced just the week when I decided to go back to the game. At least I'll have time to finish the first one (If Zero Escape doesn't take all my time).

Split, new game so I think it's more appropriate to have its own thread.

The other could stand to be bumped over the sale news though.

Yeah, amazing news. I thought this would get skipped in favor of 2. Glad I avoided spoilers.

This IS exciting, the first one frustrated me a bit also with the chase sequences as well as the ability to make some wrong choices and screw up the game but overall I really enjoyed the game a lot!

I feel the same way. I didn't have much problems with the questions but the chase sequences were too annoying. Probably the reason why I gave the game a long rest.
Being the sequel a visual novel at least we get rid of the running away.

Weird; I didn't find the chase sequences to be that bad honestly. The only one I ever considered problematic/bad design was in

Code:
Chapter 2; where right after you find Shinozaki near the entrance you have to dodge a 1x sized ghost kid in a narrow 3x3 area
when he can turn on a freaking dime. Not to mention they give you all of half a second's warning; literally.

Hmm. Not sure what to think of this. I just recently played the first one and gave up in the last chapter. The game is just so vague about where to go and what to do. I apparently played it wrong, and couldn't progress properly. That sucked. Plus, the actual gameplay was pretty bad.
The story itself was fascinating, so a pure visual novel would be perfect.
Is the new one for the PSP or the Vita?

It's been a while since I played it but I think I might potentially know your problem.

Code:
In Chapter 5 you have to combine the lesson you learned in Chapter 1 and ignoring the advice the game
has given you up til that point. Basically; collect all the notes and backtrack/search super carefully to gather all of
them before a certain event triggers. I think you need them all before the two halves of the party have their
conversation across the massive chasm on the second floor.

I didn't see a front page news story so I thought I'd share my discovery the other day. Apparently BoS has been on the PSN for roughly half a month now.
