I see them everywhere. It's not even an exaggeration to say that more than 50% of the people I see with headphones have those (usually the white ones)

Are they that good and/or cheap?

It fucking blows my mind seeing people with full headphones on strolling around. Not to sound like some super spy wanna-be but I prefer to be aware of my surroundings. When I do jog and listen to music I have earbuds on.. pretty low usually.

Yeah people are dumb.  Not paying attention to your surroundings is a great way to get mugged.  I listened to music fairly loudly with earbuds during college only because there were tons of people around and it was a really safe campus.

I've been eying these; I also think spending $300 on Beats is retarded (especially when Dre is probably walking away with mad royalties for each pair).

I'm getting sick of the apple ear buds, they hurt after a while.

There was this guy that appeared in the news last year where I live that had the great idea of crossing the road where the trains operate, he had his music blasting in his ears he had his music blasting while he was wearing headphones and needless to say a train got him and killed him instantly.

Beats are garbage. At least, those ones are. I've tried them so many times and never once been impressed. Even my 14 year old brother dislikes them.

Also, you can keep earbuds in or headphones on and still not be a complete dumbass. You can still SEE your surroundings. It's the people who have headphones on AND have their nose buried in a phone that even worse off.

And the new apple earbuds aren't as painful. They sound better, too.

I like when people have earbuds on and I still hear what they're listening to. If I can hear what you're hearing from earbuds, congrats, they're too loud and you're co.tributing to hearing loss before you're middle aged.

Beats are expensive pieces of shit. Wanna spend 200 dollars on headphones, try sennheiser or sony headphones.

I like earbuds rather than headphones, and I tend to buy Klipsch ones. Not cheap - I got the iPhone compatible ones on sale (I think $80) and they sound good and last me a while. This is my second pair because I got the first caught on something & ruined, but both were pretty good to me.

Iirc, Klipsch are the original makers of headphones.

I've also been looking for something to replace my ipod ear buds. I'll wear them when I'm out in the yard for a good hour or two, and my ears kind of hurt afterwards. Plus, the quality kind of sucks. I'd like to upgrade to something more comfortable, and with better sound, but that doesn't cost a ridiculous amount of money.
Heck, I still haven't replaced my gaming headphones. I'm willing to spend a bit more in this department, but it's so hard to find ones that fit comfortably.

My favorite buds are the ones that come with that plastic/rubber bit that wraps around your ears.  It lets you stuff the buds in better and without the risk of them falling out.  Finding them that style and ones that fit around your ear properly??   Pain in the ass...  I can't even tell you how many shitty ear buds I've tried on; I fall back to the apple iPod ones because they seem...relatively reliable.   I bought a pair of Nike buds and the fuckers would occasionally shock my ears.
