Pretty sure. I think they released a cheap model in Japan that doesn't, but I'm not sure if it ever made it here.

No.

I think the last model released in North America that could play GameCube games was the one bundled with Mario Kart for what I remember reading before, I'm pretty sure Eusis knows more details about this though.
