There's an island in Italy near Venice that's quite similar in that respect.  Tons of cats roaming everywhere.  Haven't been to the Japanese one but I've been there.

I wanna go to there!!!

I'm not a fan of cats, but I can't help but think an Island of them would be wonderful.

When I die, when/if I go to heaven or whatever.... I'd love to make a pit stop into doggy heaven and just play with pooches. x)

I thought about getting a kitty for my new place. Then I thought about how in the last place we lived cats destroyed our nice new couch and funkafied our whole apartment. Endless piles of fur and puke, expensive medical food....
