I enjoyed Tsukihime a lot, so I'm pretty psyched about this. However, it's an 18+ eroge, so Eusis may want to lock this (possibly?).

These games DO have clean releases on consoles/handhelds though, and I honestly expected I'd see Vita there or something.

Think I'll leave it to John, just don't link where to buy it unless it's one of those "clean" console/handheld versions.

I know dick about the series, but I respect the new designs as a person with an "eye" for these sort of things.

Lots of people don't like the contemporary look, but quite frankly, the old designs were hardly outfits/hairstyles at all.  Certainly less awkward even if the art style in general is sort of....bland.

...still can't help but wonder how many people really wear turtlenecks these days, but hey, it works here.

Oh, right. I forgot about there being naughty. Though really the 18+ business was more of a requirement for being released on the PC than anything else. Unfortunately that article made no mention of platform so hopefully its* a PS3 release. :shobon:

That actually does sound plausible. They've got enough attention and outside media that there's no real NEED to keep that niche that only wants porn (assuming a good chunk of them decided they liked this enough beyond that and will stick around), and it probably makes it somewhat easier to port and whatnot.

Tsukihime is relatively light in sex and it's not at all important to the story, so it could easily do without it. It'd be terrific if they did drop it, actually. Nearly all story-based VNs don't need adult content at all and would be better off without it.

I searched quickly actually and it sounds like they're undecided if they'll even keep the porn stuff.

Siliconera generally has its platform up at the top, right above the article title, this time it has platform as being for pc.

If it's for PC, I'd bet on it keeping the 18+ stuff. Very few PC VNs do not contain some form of porn. It's sad, really.

It's sad they feel the need to include it when it has no relevance or importance to the story whatsoever. On the rare occasion it does, then I have no issue with it.

Well I agree. Is always nice to see those kinds of scenes with some sort of context behind them, but you have to give fanservice to the Otakus so... yeah.

Ditto. Seeing creative freedom seriously compromised is lame, and it does cut both ways (forcing sex & violence where it's not intended, not just cutting it out when it's supposed to be there).

Also makes it a bit cleaner to cover and talk about somewhere like here.
