Ragnarok Online was my first MMORPG and I had unspeakable love for it.

Never again. RO destroyed people way before WoW was even a concept. This is the worst news since the announcement of ffxiii-3.

Wait, hasn't this been in beta and operated on private servers for years? I remember seeing a couple videos of private server events and music videos a couple years back. Somehow I don't think RO will stand the test of time, of course, when have MMORPGers ever truly moved on? ;p

I read a bit on this because I too remembered this already coming out years ago.
Turns out they released a RO2 and it sucked balls (or so the Koreans thought).
They scrapped the whole things and started from scratch.
This is the new version.
So technically, the game has been in the maker for 6 years with the rework and all.

I haven't had time to play myself yet, but looking at the skills on the characters I'm a bit bummed.
Very few skills have 'effects' and it's pretty much cooldowns and damage differences.

I remember messing around for like half an hour with Ragnarok years ago. I really didn't play it as much as I was seeing what the game was about, but I got bored and I never bothered giving it another chance... dunno about this new one though.

I'm gonna be blunt, this looks even more generic than RO1. :| And yet still I am intrigued for some reason. Guess cuz it has class upgrades, and it's free. I'm just short of running it, though (need a slightly better GPU to meet minimum), so I won't be participating in the beta.
