Questions to long-term players of the series:

(1)  Are Pokemon relatively balanced or is it easy enough to isolate and forget a bunch of them?
(2)  Is it fair to say the two-type pokemon better than the one types (eg; Lucario as Steel/Fighting vs Goomy who's just a Dragon-type?)
(3)  I put an HM on and forgot you can't "forget" 'em off till later...meanwhile I sacrificed some good moves...can Pokemon relearn originally offered skills?
(4)  How often do y'all use power up/down moves and are they really worth it?

1. The latter.
2. It depends, but most - if not all - the good Pokemon are dual types that have fewer weaknesses, greater resistances, more versatility, or all of the above.
3. Yes. You can also delete HM moves by visiting a move deleter.
4. It depends.

3 [Extended]: The move deleter also has a wife who will re-learn your Pokemon moves for a Heart Scale.
4: I'd say power up/downs that effect multiple stats or boost/nerf stats by 2 or 3 stages are worth. Powering up just one stage of one stat is a waste of a turn.

4) I agree with Star.  I noticed that some of those skills have been tweaked this time around - String Shot now "harshly" lowers the enemy's speed, for example.

tell me that when you keep missing my ninjask

I'm surprised so many people are talking about the story, I never really paid much attention to it. I had a roommate who told me he really liked the black/white story and I suppose they did put a lot more effort into it that time. Pokemon's always been more about the game itself for me, though.

Haha, okay apart from the Accuracy/Evasion stats, those are just a pain in the ass.

Question 1b) Is there a tier list. :S

It doesn't matter in the least what you use in the game, Dice. Don't get bogged down in tiers and stuff, I play the game with the Pokemon I like. You only need to worry about that stuff if you want to battle competitively.

Having said that, there are only a few Pokemon who are so weak they aren't worth your time.

But what if I wanted to be the very best like no one ever was??
I mean, to catch them is my real test since I'm impatient....but to train them IS my cause.

Yaaaaaaay thanks all for the [quick] answers.  They were as fast as Gamefaq's but probably 100x more informative.
