Too bad it didn't quite might this fall like I hoped, but I think it's clear it'll be worth the wait.

It's a TT game.  You couldn't seriously be expecting it for this year.

I wouldn't even expect it until later 2015. In Japan.

Nintendo said twice that it was coming this year. Excuse me for believing the game's own publisher. :/

Got the same feeling. That X, the theme, everything screams xenogears to me. And that is extremely good in my book.

First trailers reminded me of Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) now the new trailer today reminds me of Xenosaga. This game's design is all over the map, but has "X" at the heart and soul of it. Love it.

Live stream trip report:

Earth goes kaboom in the middle of alien race war.

One ship from the US makes it to an alien world.

The game starts a few months after the fact.

Your main guy/gal is customizable.

The first town is mostly military guys and is in need of civilians.

You'll end up finding and recruiting people to help grow the town.

There's no fall damage.

You can switch weapons and classes on the fly, even in battle.

Melee weapons build up TP faster than Ranged weapons, but Ranged weapons allow you to take less damage.

The only way to heal allies is with the B-button QTE thing from the first game.

It seems that the combo system also got folded into the QTE thing.

You can issue general commands to your allies now.

Classes kinda act like Skills from the first game except that you get Arts and weapon equipment options.

Each character has their own class tree.

I love that the first town is called Neo LA.

And the video ended after the first boss and with an overview of Neo LA.
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

Yeah, those Eldridge vibes were definitely justified then, since that's basically Xenogears, but with less Deus and artificial humans (for now).  TT seems to be packing in as much from his Xeno games as he can and mashing them all together.  That's not a bad thing.

Yeah, nothing on the PS4 or Xbone was that compelling.....but this?

This is going to make me purchase a Wii U.
I avoid online multiplayer because my brain still works.

Heck, for a moment I thought that female that shows up in the beginning was named Elsa like the ship from Xenosaga. And Neo LA kinda looked like a much larger version of the Mechonis Village from the first game.

First: Happy 6000th!

Second: Really hope a playable MC female is in the cards... I love customizin'. :)

Third: I'm guessing Neo-LA opens up the idea for like Neo-Tokyo (is it bad I'm having trouble believing Japanese developers WOULDN'T create a Neo-Tokyo???)

Fourth: I'm salavating and happy as a clam to the rest.  Xenoblade was really good at finding "what makes games good" and "what can we do to make things more convenient".  So all these additions sound like excellent add-ons to a...technically simple but effective first title.

EDIT: Also, it must be said.  As somewhat childish sounding as "Treehouse" is (Canadians might get why), I thought it was a brilliant addition to E3.  A lot of the skepticism over X's somewhat dated graphics were immediately silenced by the quickly demonstrated gameplay --- which looked sexy.

It's a great thing. Really feels like he is finally able to make the kind of games he wants to make.

Yeah, Nintendo handled it brilliantly. It's cool viewers at home can follow the conferences live, but Nintendo went a step further by giving viewers a taste of what the games are actually like. They finally seem to be getting the hang of the whole PR thing again.

A) Thanks.

B) Its definitely there, you can see the gender option at the very start of the character customization part of the demo, but the guy playing had to fly through as many menus and as much cutscene time as possible to get to the gameplay while still showing off.


Also, some things I forgot to mention during my recap:

Classes level independently from Inner (re: Character) levels.

It also seems like Classes have additional stats on top of your Inner core stats (it looked like Inner was responsible for Str, Def, Ether, and either E. Def or Agi).

And Arts level through use now instead of dumping an accumulated point resource (which is both a good thing and a bad thing since it seems like there's going to be a shitload of Arts now, but it also means that some Arts are going to be stuck at level worthless, especially in cases of hard to use Arts like Dunban's Thunder was in XBC1).
