Yoshi's Epic Yarn

Since every other big shiny new reveal from today's Nintendo Direct video got a thread I figured why not. And besides, if its anything like Yoshi's Island (save for the babies) then it'll totally be worth it (plus 1998 was forever ago).

I hated Epic Yarn, and I think it's kinda weird the same company is doing ...another yarn thing. But I'm curious, and this look quite pretty. I'm counting how long it takes before someone makes a real Yarn Yoshi on DeviantArt or Etsy or whatever.

I wish they'd revisit the SNES art style. That's the most beautiful SNES game IMHO

The fact the SNES is now a bygone era still tugs at my heart.
Mind you, I'm glad as fuck I don't have to hear Baby Mario cry. AAAUUGGHHH. I source that game and Drakengard as the top two reasons I wanna post-pone any sort of family.
And good thinking Mongoosey. I'd take a dating sim Metroid. Secret bachelor is Metroid itself.

Yeah, it had a great style to it. I had the cart, but I remember more playing it often in high school during computer classes and at the library. Snes emus were really popular at my school. Doom too, I suppose.

Ironically, taking the "suck" out of Kirby meant taking away a pretty major design element for him (I though everything else made the controls iffy; controlling "car" Kirby was messy). The music sounded like it wanted to lull you to sleep. The challenge wasn't really there. The game was extremely short (without doing quests, you could probably have it done in one sitting).
I *do* respect the challenge though. Even though you couldn't "die" per se, to actually get "Gold" ranks (or 'S' or whatever) was actually really challenging.
I dunno, otherwise, the game didn't appeal to me. I like the more faster paced Kirby games. The game looked brilliant and had a lot of creative ideas, but the gameplay just wasn't as exciting.

Good thing Yoshi doesn't suck then.

An Metroid: Other Yarn would imply a 2D/2.5D style game which is something the franchise desperately needs at this point (and hopefully keep the creep out of the game).

Short and easy is basically every Kirby game.

Touche. But Kirby 3, RtDl, and SSU have really shitty final bosses. I define them as "fun with the occassional pain in the butt".
