Doesn't look a whole lot different than the dualshock. I honestly don't think they need to ever change the controller. It's always been my favorite since the PS1, but as long as it's not a boomerang I think we'll be ok lol.

My biggest beef with the Dualshock design is the convex tops to the analog sticks which result in much finger-slipping.  It looks like they're finally addressing that with the design, so I'm happy.

I know a lot of people are whining about the touchpad, but I could see that being pretty useful for non-gaming (and even some gaming tasks).  It's just like the trackpad on a laptop.  You could use it to control the pointer in the web browser (which I'm sure the PS4 will have) a lot better than with an analog stick.  Or, dare I say it, actually have a RTS game that doesn't suck on a console.

Though this is Sony so I'm sure they'll do something stupid and gimmicky with it...

The twist is that the Boomerang was actually the best PS1 non-analog controller. You people ruined everything!

(Well ok the D-Pad, buttons, and analog clearly needed tweaking even if the basic shape stayed the same. Too spaced out and the analogs too tiny.)
