Skies of Arcadia Legends vs. Rogue Galaxy

Been thinking about making a few threads like this for a while. Basically taking two games that have either similar themes, gameplay mechanics, storylines or any other similarity that might make someone think of both of them. For this thread I'm comparing the top two games. Even though their gameplay is very different from one another they have similar themes and both have many side quests. Discuss which game you like better and why maybe give some reasons. I'll see how this thread works out otherwise I'll just scrap it and won't make any more game comparisons.

Skies of Arcadia. Better music, way better characters, better-executed concept, and it doesn't fall to complete shit in the last third of the game.

That said, I still enjoyed Rogue Galaxy.

Yeah, I have to third SoA.  For its time it was pretty mind-blowing.

Skies of Arcadia annoyed me less with the story (though with a 7 year difference I undoubtedly changed a lot in my standards) and was more interesting to explore, admittedly it was cutting edge, but Rogue Galaxy as I recall went for dungeon design that may as well have been randomized.

But I played way more of Skies of Arcadia, and way further back, so I'm not int he best position to judge really.

ahhhhhhhh two freakin' awesome games I have yet to get to.... i haven't come across a good deal on a copy of SoA yet.... how "must play" is this game??.... I mean I've read a great deal about it... but from someone who has played it.... is it good in a timeless (suikoden 2) sort of way.... or is this a case of "ahead of its time but not something you'd care to visit again at present..."??? i've got enough rpg's to keep me busy until 2020 at this point but I've seen this title brought up so many times I can't help but wonder....

If you stopped and played Skies of Arcadia, Klyde, you'd be quite pleased. The game was incredibly well done.

More content, but since it was squished to fit on one disc, the music quality isn't as good. Just as an FYI.

If other RPGs followed a world design like Skies of Arcadia did then it might've been a "you had to be there" game, but only a few, namely Dragon Quest VIII, really did that. So I'd say it's worth going back to, it's charming and likable beyond that anyway.

Definitely SoA. No question.

Its like Wind Waker except as a full on RPG and the game I wished Skyward Sword was more like.

Rouge (fuck it, I'm not spelling it correctly) Galaxy meanwhile, was ultimately Level 5's take of the obligatory JRPG Star Wars knockoff and little else. Nice idea, poor execution.

I heard they're making an HD one.... why no new info?????  WHAT A TEASE D:

Obv.  Skies for sure, even if the game gets repetitive and too easy by the end (You can easily buy full HP recovering items by the end of the game).

Now, since we ALL know Skies: FEENA or AIKA?
