Our NieR thread did really well for an odd release like this (i.e.; where gameplay wasn't the selling point of "a game").

That's fine and I'm not against games that push their narrative to be something else but as a game is not only about its narrative but also its mechanics and gameplay. That's half of the experience after all.

God I love Fujisaki's weapon designs.  They look like you could ...kill...things with 'em (I'm out of wit/creative commentary).

Hate to say it, but that sword looks familiar (also the blonde chick, I hope to god they're not Noway & Manna's children).

Lotsa red, lotsa white.... lotsa red staining white.  Lovely piano.  Graphics are "ok", looking forward to clips n stuff. 

...I also hope we can get more than just "level-to-level" gameplay, and if it is, it'll hopefully be done better this time around or make gameplay more interactive and varied.

Getting an 'those two queens from Alice in Wonderland' vibes from the characters. The main character especially, reminds me of the concept of painting the white roses red (and the flower in the eye doesn't help matters either).

I'm mixed.  I agree, but all the same, I'm sick of "evil latin chanting" for an epic-anything theme.

Not a fan.  it's really "chaotic" (granted, it fit the game for that, but I don't find it as "listenable" on a normal basis).... hmm, then again, it might be perfect in that respect.  The tracks are pretty good, but I kinda like the more melodic D2 better

While not the best soundtrack I've ever heard, I've got to give credit where credit's due since its still impressive to be able to pick up on the classical pieces the game's music was remixed from.

Keiichi Okabe is in charge of the soundtrack for D3, he was one of the four composers responsable for the music in Nier. None of the others composers that worked in D1 and 2 were back for Nier.

Though the music in Drakengard and Nier didn't took just a few people to make (at least according to VGMdb which I doubt has wrong information about this).

I'm probably the only guy on this forum that couldn't get past Nier's utter shit controls and went back to listening to the game's soundtrack instead.

at least people didnt deceptively sell you on the game based on a character thats not even playable. about 15 mins in i returned the game.

It kinda looks like a Dreamcast game... in HD.
