I know I'm in the minority here (in fact I think there were people in this thread who recommended the game), but personally I think the PSP version of Lunar is terrible. Mostly on a technical level. They made some really weird decisions in that game. Combat is embarrassingly easy. I feel like you would have to intentionally tell your party to just sit there and do nothing every turn to actually lose a fight (and even then it would take a while). But despite being so easy it moves slower than a snail high on marijuana. Every animation is unnecessarily long and filled with awkward pauses. Combined with the complete lack of any credible threat this makes combat purely a chore. This is literally how I would play the game, absolutely no exaggeration: At the start of a turn I would queue the actions for all my party members, then I would put the PSP down and do something else, like browse the web for a while as I waited for it to be my turn again. There was no reason to actually pay attention to what was happening on the enemy's turn since my party was never in any danger.
Then there are the loading times, oh the loading times. Which get compounded by really weird and unnecessary stage design. Why does practically every single house have a foyer with absolutely nothing in it as a completely separate map? Which, despite being literally two steps wide, takes just as long to load as a full-sized map? So to enter a house you go through the door, load load load, enter the foyer, walk to steps, load load load, do whatever you were going to do in the house and then exit, load load load, you're back in the fucking foyer again so you walk two steps to get to the other side and then load load load, etc. It drives me mad! Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea?!
Sorry, I'm getting emotional. I really can't stand that game...
