Toukiden 2
« on: May 29, 2017, 01:30:06 PM »
Greetings, fellow RPGfans! I don't know if you've ever heard about Toukiden. To summarize, Toukiden is an action Co-op RPG for up to 4 players developed by Omega Force (Warriors Orochi, Dragon Quest Heroes, Samurai Warriors, Hyrule Warriors), and published by Koei Tecmo, that follows the story of a fantasy medieval Japan overrun by Oni (demons). You're part of a specialized taskforce charged with dispatching said Oni. That's why you're called a Mononofu (Slayer), a demon who slays demons. According to the game lore, heroes' souls had been consumed by Oni, and transformed into spiritual essences called Mitama. These mitama ally with Slayers dotting them with skills and special abilities, each with their own class, power ups and combinations. It has some charming characters, many quests, a bunch of different weapons, and beautiful japanese armors, along with more modern looking ones.

Recently, the sequel was released a few months ago for PS4, PS Vita and Steam, and it brought some changes: now it's Open World, has new weapons, new Oni and new gameplay mechanics. So, tomorrow a Free-to Play Version called Toukiden 2 Freedom Alliances will be released tomorrow for PS4 and PS Vita, fully compatible with the full game. The difference will be that the story chapters will be up to the first one, and the multiplayer missions will be limited by time (unless you pay to break that limit), the same for the Mitama. However, if you were to want to buy the game, everything achieved on Freedom Alliances will pass over to the full game.
Here's a video I recorded from the PS Vita full version of the game. Hope you give it a chance!

I have heard of it and been interested on a couple occasions but never have the system for it.
"I don't live by labels, I can be anything I want, I'd rather die a pauper than live on as someone else's fantasy!" - My best attempt at quoting the protagonist of Vandal Hearts 2.
