Etrian Odyssey IV announced for 3DS

So am I able to just build my characters without looking at a guide and do ok?  Im not much of a min/maxer or anything like that, so since I am about to finally crack my copy open, im worried ill be stuck in a perpetual trying to rebuild (via rest) to make it sort of thing.  Just curious.

You should be fine. Only reason to look at a building guide is if you're really OCD about perfect builds. Looking at builds online ruins most of the fun for me, because then I feel like I didn't discover it on my own.

My EOIV should arrive today or at worse tomorrow (and I got it shipped before release) and where already anticipating news of the next one.

Funny thing about this series is when I played a little of EOIII I hated drawing my maps but surprisingly playing the demo of IV it wasn't that bad. I think this comes down to getting better at it and soon enough you won't spend too much time on it.

Since I'll start when most here are finishing, whatare the classes you find invaluable during the couse of the game? In the demo the ones I don't consider swtiching are Landsknecht, Medic and Dancer (which grew a lot on me lately).

@Farron, any class will be a good choice this time around. For me, I went with a party of Nightseeker, Medic, Arcanist, Sniper, Runemaster. The Nightseeker and Runemaster really shine late game with damage output.
