Info on Gust's next Atelier game has been revealed.  Two protagonists, up to six character battles.  Sounds like they are mixing things up a little.  And the engine is obviously the result of Gust being bought by Tecmo.  We'll have to wait and see how well it works in practice.

How is the Dynasty Warriors engine?  I'm not really experienced with the games.  I'm guessing it allows for more fluid and complex animations?

I think they're okay but it doesn't seem like they would mesh very well.

Hey, if Nobunaga's Ambitions included catching all the Pokemon, I can't see why Atelier Warriors would be such a stretch. A crowd of moeblobs tossing Barrels! at wave after wave of unsuspecting crowds of generic faceless cannon fodder until some animorphic tree beast makes makes for your Atelier base then you have to barrel your way back in an effort to intercept said tree beast and Barrel! it to death, isn't that hard to come up with.

As long as Gust characters don't look like Dynasty Warriors characters they could use whatever engine they feel like. I just hope this doesn't mean we'll lose the details Gust puts in their games because DW for me looks a little bland.

Yeah, the Dynasty Warriors engine is more designed for a ton of enemies than anything.

So long as Hidari is drawin', it looks like I'll be getting another artbook.  Dammit.

Anyways, yay, hopefully we get a gameplay video soon.

I'm on the ball!!!!  And I guess the romanization is a lot different.

Apparently 'Rosy' is short for Rozicks or something (hard to tell what it's actually supposed to be, it's just in katakana).

Edit: Oh wait, Dice's scans have the name in roman characters.  Apparently it's "Logix".  Only the Japanese can get "Rosy" out of that...

It's ロジックス in Romaji, Ro/Lo-Zi-ka-su so yeah, I think choosing じ would have been more accurate for "logic."  His nickname is Ro/Lozi because it's simply the first two characters.

I understand why, Cyril, I was just saying that no westerner would ever think to abbreviate "Logix" as "Rosy".  It takes a very special application of ambiguous character conversions.  I wonder how they're going to explain it in the localization.

It's cute, in its own way, with its awkwardness.

I've no idea how they're going to localize it to make it sound not ridiculous.  Maybe they'll play it off as a joke by his parents?

If this solves the abysmal framerate drops, then I'm all for it.

Remember that "engine" really just means a set of pre-set functions that work together.  I doubt that it'll carry over anything other than the physics/graphics functions.

I was really happy with Ayesha -- I hope we get this.
I wonder if the gameplay will compensate to make Rosy more about battle system and Eska more about the alchemy??
