I was really happy with Ayesha -- I hope we get this.
I wonder if the gameplay will compensate to make Rosy more about battle system and Eska more about the alchemy??

Like Atelier Iris 2?

...Hopefully better than AI2...

I'm glad you liked Ayesha, I know you were a bit cautious for a while.  I assume it got more interesting for you?

I'm glad you liked Ayesha, I know you were a bit cautious for a while.  I assume it got more interesting for you?

After I discovered the d-pad alchemy options (power pour, transfer, and the other two), I got *infinitely* more interested.
The game could still use tweaks in the battle system and plot, but I was happy with the product.
Biggest issue was probably the last ten minutes of the main story because it felt so...cheaply done =/
Final Dungeon: two screens
Final Enemies: the same 5 you always run into, re-skinned
Final Boss: ???? (easier than the mecha-dragon, but I guess abusing alchemy will do that).
Resolution: Tio's safe!  (Teleport)  BYE!

Keith is awesome.  Regina sucks ass.  I like how she isn't a standout in any way.  I'm curious how Nio is in battle.  That was a pleasant surprise.
And while I'm not into cute/whacky anime stereotypes, I thought Odelia was a darling.

EDIT: Battle scans

I haven't seen many pictures so far but I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. It seems the models look even better and both main characters seem likeable from the get go.

It seems it is supposed to have full lip sync this time around.

Mmmmmm, Logy.

Screens are really impressive.  Given how Rorona was a catastrophe of a title, there was really nowhere to go but up, but I do like the series for (seemingly) improving on every new title lately.  Graphically, I think we're again another step up.

Oh man, that desolate, broken landscape with the red sky and remains of old technology.  Could you have hit my weakness for environment any more, Gust? Also, that lonely house, overgrown by plants. I'm almost clapping my hands in glee.

Here's to hoping for more Keith.  There's never enough Keith.

Edit:
Oh dear...The clothing physics still need a bit of work.  They've been improving slowly, though.

I really hope the next update is about returning characters.  Be nice to see a slightly older/wiser Ayesha or Nio.  Keith especially, I thought he was a surprise out of a JRPG (anyone else think he looks older than 45 though?)

Even if there is a graphical short-coming, so long as there isn't lag anymore, I'll be happy.

Since the earlier translations were still being used I changed the topic name to the official romanized title. Nevermind what it's a reference to.

Also maybe Escha's a psychopath and cut off a dog's tail to strap to her belt. That certainly doesn't look like something that's naturally growing there.

This is a snippet from Sankaku Complex... so validity may vary, but it kinda "fits" the dual-protagonist bit.

Quote
The developers admit their twin protagonist system is actually intended as much as a RPG market landgrab as it is an excuse to service female fans – they say playing the “slice-of-life” Escha scenario is intended for traditionalist fans who prefer their heroines mastering the intricacies of making bread in a cauldron and cutely venturing forth only to bop threatening fruit hamsters.
Meanwhile Logy’s saga focuses on a “world depicting scenario” intended for general RPG gamers and laden with weighty plot and events. Fiery battles and sharp dressing also appear to feature heavily.
GOD I hate that site's writing (the first sentence is no better than tabloid journalism) -- but if it's true -- I hope to hell we get this game. :(

Apparently this is going to be a sequel to Ayesha.

I didn't see it posted yet, but we have information on new characters:
http://www.siliconera.com/2013/04/23/atelier-escha-logy-brings-more-new-characters-to-the-mix/

So far, no new info on returning characters besides Wilbell.   It's nice to note that they're returning to the earlier-series formula and using older characters rather than primarily younger ones.
