If I wanted a story about a set party of misfits and a mysterious magical girl, I'd play Tales.

Do not want.

Have they confirmed characters will be set?
It could have a job system like certain FF games.

I mostly pop in occasionally to give my two cents on certain controversial things, so if you disagree then send a PM, because I generally don't check for replies in threads in case I feel like replying and then things get heated/derailed.

From what it sounds like, you will be able to change classes but not appearances.

That means that you're stuck with Hiro Protagonist and his rubber band of merry men no matter what you do.
In my vision, I see that one of us is going to KO the other.

Many new screens/art.

Forgive the rant, but...

Code: [Select]
I'm honestly very worried about how they're going to deal with the genocide of the forest people.  Will they remove it entirely?
Will the hero go on a tangent and reject the Elder's request in a heroic fashion, befriending them instead? I can't see any character
being entirely okay with the murder committed, nor should they be, as it isn't really a socially acceptable subject or action, but at the
same time it was one of the major shows of dedication you had to go through to reach the truth.  I'm worried they may make the final boss more
villainous, in this regard, which completely goes against everything he represents and shows you.

And this is why I was hoping it was a separate Gaiden rather than a straight up remake.

Do not care for this art style. Do not care for it at all.
I avoid online multiplayer because my brain still works.

Don't mind the art style (looks the same as EO4? Unless I am mistaken...)

The character descriptions, though... I'm vomiting... and gagging at the same time. I'm gavomiting.

The minimalist style of EO meant I could get a reprieve from the usual anime troupes that JRPGs have. Not too fond of the descriptions of the characters either, Trotters. :[

I'll withhold the rest of my judgement until I play it, cause' let's face it, I will play it.

You're like 5 games late to start taking issue.

People have been quite vocal about their dislike for this particular entry in the series and even about particular aspects of EO in general after news about this game surfaced. I highly doubt this game will become the model for future games in the series considering as it's not numbered. I suspect the developers are highly aware of the series roots and that fans enjoy creating their own guild and choosing character portraits, as well as the enjoyment of a minimalist story. It seems that this is only an experiment that they original director of the series wanted to try.

Well I so far I have only played EO1, but I don't remember it being as bad as that.
(I own EO3 but am waiting to get my hands on EO2 before I play it)

Looks classy. The other art always looks odd, especially those open mouths (I always tried to pick adventurers who didn't look so silly).

UPDATE: There are two modes in the game.

Classic Mode and Story Mode. I don't think I need to explain what each mode does.

Now everyone that's freaking out can stop yelling about it on the internet.

YES!

I wonder why Atlus didn't mention classic mode from the start?

Edit: Oh god, there seems to be an old bgm option too. Great!
