The entire soundtrack

1: The original PSP version of this song is a little better in my opinion, but it wouldn't technically count as a 2014 selection.
2: This IS the original PSP verson, simply because more than half of the song was cut out in the Evo remake to make room for the new credits theme.

I know this is probably too much, and probably is a bit over-saturated with Falcom. I did my best to pick good stuff, though!

what am I doing with my life

Three things:

1) Sorry for the delay in posting. I've been hiring new people and super busy!

2) Thanks so much for everyone's continued patience: the drought should be over now :) There's an episode of Rhythm Encounter cooking for Friday, and we're also RECORDING another on Friday with a talented musician.

3) holy freaking crap Reta: thanks for all the selections. I will be totally honest and tell you I will absolutely not have time to listen to them all. Your enthusiasm, however, is super appreciated! However, if you can pick one or two that you'd REALLY like to hear on the show, let me know and thy will shall be done.
Friends, waffles, work. Or waffles, friends, work. Doesn't matter, but work is third.

Don't worry Reta, I'll listen to them all. :)

From what I've listened, I really, really liked "Aria -Holy Saint, Holy Spirit-." Very, very beautiful. Sempre Dolce. :)

Sorry to bog your log of tunes down even more, but I've got one last song to share.
Ar nosurge: em-pyei-n vari-fen jang;
Normally I'd just leave it at a single post, but this song is far far FAR too beautiful to not share. The vocalist actually sort of reminds me of the vocalist in Legend of Mana.
"Art is how we decorate space; Music is how we decorate time"

Also, I'd hate myself if I didn't interject with this classic bit of brilliance from the 8-bit days http://youtu.be/HFKtYCcMWT4
and its highly entertaining remix http://youtu.be/JTcvxPrzZUg

so glad chiptune is a thing

Per the tracklist, I think that song in the first link is called Devil's Wind (?)

WILY STAGE <3 <3 <3 <3

I too love chiptune. One of my favorite parts of MAGFest last year was the random bursts of chipmusic being jammed out with all throughout the place.

edit:

this mix is awesome

Preach it, Sistah. ;)

Also, I'd like to add this accordion vgm track that I have been in love with since its release: Suikoden IV OST: 1-01 "La Mer"

I actually saw that earlier but didn't have a chance to listen? Can I be lazy and ask you to link it here :)?

Soooo I guess I should have realized by now that we've got a thread for the podcast. Sorry to be no show for a while there. I promise I wasn't being antisocial on purpose, just on accident! ;)

I actually really like Suikoden IV's OST. I know that game isn't well-loved, but since I've literally never even seen it in action, I can't comment on that.

On a related note, my project for Christmas at the family's place is to pick Suiko2 back up and finish it once and for all.

Welcome! Better late than never. ;)

On a related note, my project for Christmas at the family's place is to pick Suiko2 back up and finish it once and for all.

I adore Suikoden IV's soundtrack and game with a passion. It is true that sailing in the ocean can be a drag, but I really enjoyed this game's cast of characters. I do have to say one of my favorite music moments is the duel with Mitsuba, when this plays: Magnificient Handling of a Broadsword [Mitsuba Fight BGM]. Then again, just that theme @ 0:24 is my favorite part, which is also in another duel theme: Fated Confrontation [Duel Battle BGM].

*hint: If anyone wants to get me anything ever, the gensosuikoden IV soundtrack is the way to go! ;) ;) ;)

Speaking of accordion and Suikoden popping up....

The suikoden IV opening theme is fantastic.

You know it! :D
