It's good, but similarly, the hype machine may have skewed my perception or I just didn't see what it is. I can see the fans, it's whack and has a great and simple premise, but I gave it a passing nod more than anything. I like joke-comedy or physical comedy, and sometimes Adventure Time just dipped too much to screwball/goofy/random comedy that is more "whatever". Some of the clips I"ve been sent or shown have been great though, but I doubt I'll sit with it anytime soon unless Netflix makes that decision easier for me. :P
I "get" the appeal for MLP...well, maybe not all the conventions, fanurt, and being a young adult male and bringing your pony plush to restaurants or photoshooping to be in a camera with you... but I get the appeal. Same thing though, it gets boring (I had to do my research for 04/01 somehow) and it's
clearly meant for a younger demographic (even with wise/clever pop-culture references and puns asside...
like the secret "Dr. Who" pony --- Dr. Hooves). It's colourful, magical, and fun and nothing really-really bad happens (I know a bunch of boys who watched Sailor Moon when they were young, probably for similar reasons). It's just a
nice show.
