Not unexpected, just depressing.

I think I've come to terms with it.  LucasArts was incredible during the 90s, but what have they actually done lately?  In some sense they've already been dead for a long time now...

I'll always remember The Dig. That game was deep.

Although, like SE, I can't say I was expecting much of anything out of them in the last few years =/

TIE Defenders were cheap as heck.  They could trounce anything.

They haven't made anything GREAT in a long long time, so it's sort of disappointing but not something really bringing me down. Though it helped 1313 looked to be something I wouldn't really have cared about, especially knowing the original premise and how it seemingly backed away from that.

I haven't cared about much they've done lately, but in the 80's they were my fave game company die to the graphic adventures they released. I LOVED those things... Full Throttle? Yeah. I always wished they'd re-release/update them for consoles, but it looks like that's never going to happen. Full Thrttle, The Dig, Loom? Man, SOOOO awesome. There are a few graphic adventures out there recently, but they all seem to be horror/suspense/thriller related. I miss the comedy of the ones Lucas Arts and Legend Entertainment released.

I really would have liked to see a rerelease of Full Throttle and Grim Fandango for modern devices. :(

Well Star Wars is clearly in better hands now. Clearly....

As someone who's not a fan of Star Wars I'll just say that this whole thing could have ended way worse.

In a perfect world, I'd be excited at the prospect of DICE handling Battlefront 3, Visceral handling 1313, and Bioware handling KOTOR 3.

All three of them will probably be turned into the same homogenous mass EA is trying to turn all of their franchies into-- microtransactions, multiplayer, and bro-friendly shooter mechanics with a Star Wars-themed hat.

That sounded a lot more negative than I imagined myself being.

Why did Siliconera report on that? I THOUGHT they were focusing more on covering Japanese companies, but it's starting to come off as whatever-the-fuck-we-feel-like.

Still, while my first thought was that it was bad... well, what were the good, likely alternatives anyway? Unless you had a dark horse like Nintendo swoop in I actually suspect EA was the best choice anyway.
