Letting them die with whatever pride they had left was also an option.

(Yes, I know those IP are worth too much for that to happen)

I'd treat LucasArts and Star Wars as separate here, and it's not as if they licensed their suite of graphic adventure properties to them. And I hate to say it but Star Wars probably is in better hands now than late LucasArts.

In a perfect world, I'd be excited at the prospect of DICE handling Battlefront 3...

I'm on it...!

Why did Siliconera report on that? I THOUGHT they were focusing more on covering Japanese companies, but it's starting to come off as whatever-the-fuck-we-feel-like.

Still, while my first thought was that it was bad... well, what were the good, likely alternatives anyway? Unless you had a dark horse like Nintendo swoop in I actually suspect EA was the best choice anyway.

Because Star Wars?

Just curious, what was considered the last good Star Wars game to be released?

Given the news that's coming out of Japan lately I can understand why they're diversifying their coverage.

Retro?

Nah. They probably couldn't afford the license. And that's probably just it as well. Who could afford the SW license and not be terrible? Maybe Sony or Naughty Dog but the latter has its own cash cows to rear right now and the former can probably get 2 or 3 3rd party developers with their own IPs on board for the price of the SW license alone.

I have a friend who really enjoyed the current/latest MMO.
