This game will probably be the Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica of survival horror.

If you want to compare TEW to some RE titles then think of RE1/REmake and 4.

I did, given how I own every Resident Evil title, I just used RE2 and CV as an example, because they're my two favorite RE games in the series.  REmake is freakin fantastic, too.

To be clear, I mentioned those two because people from Bethesda in interviews have said that TEW is more in line with RE1 and RE4. Which as someone who has followed the project very closely I can say that's a really vague way to describe the game, especially because watching the trailer and those (very) short leaked videos from QuakeCon of the prologue you get that the game has this vibe from 2 or the 4 early prototypes of RE4 along with various inspirations from other Japanese Survival Horror titles, movies, among other things.

Though despite all the comparisons you, I and everybody else can make I'm pretty sure that TEW is gonna have its own identity.

Also, is anyone here gonna see the livestream of the private demo? I have mixed feelings about seeing too much... but I'm so excited for this. I'm looking forward to this way more than MGSV.

I think I'm NOT going to watch any streams of the demo.  I've been spoiled enough and I want to be surprised when I play the game and not think "Oh, ok, here comes that part from that demo."

Well I don't have any intention to ruin the experience of people that might read or follow this thread, but as time goes on I'm pretty sure is gonna be harder and harder to follow any kind of info to see how the project is going without bumping into spoilers.

So far Bethesda and Tango have given very clear information while still being as vague as they can. Maybe for TGS is when they left the mystery aside for a bit and start showing the game more openly to the public before the livestream in Europe. Who knows.

That said, I kinda miss reading those silly short comics in the website of Tango Gameworks.

More concept art unearthed for The Evil Within [SPOILERS] -- EvilWithin[dot]net

"I'd like to remind everyone that a Concept Art is, well, a Concept Art. Whatever we see in those images might not make it to the final game. (Especially if we are talking about leaked Concept Art by a freelance artist)." / Rikitatsu, Mod. EvilWithin.net

@Ivalice Alliance: RE5 and 6 were okay and have their merits. And hell Siren: Blood Curse and probably the three Fatal Frame games that were released on Wii and 3DS have been as far as I can remember pretty much the only decent Survival Horror stuff that came out of Japan in the last generation, while the West was a mixed bag for the most part.

There's a whole talk that can be made about the state of the genre and what not, but honestly, it doesn't matter and I'm too excited for TEW to care right now. lol
