Wild Arms 5: The Road to Tomorrow Follows Behind You

I believe I am somewhat in the minority of liking Masato Kouda's work on Wild Arms more than Naruke's. Not to say her's is BAD, I still find 1-3's to be incredible. I just somewhat enjoys the newer stuff a bit better.

Nope.  I think this is one of those situations where my bias SHOULD be leaning towards Naruke, but Agematsu and Kouda did such a fucking great job with the series after her (actually, iirc, she was sick during WA4's production).

Next to Dahngrest from Tales of Vesperia, I totally consider Guara Balbao to be one the most absolutely chill town themes I've ever heard.
Also, TERRIBURU MONSTURU ATTACKINGU CURU is also one of my favorite standard boss themes in any game ever, really.

Wild Arms 5: Persephone Battle
This is most certainly NOT the sort of song that comes to anyone's mind when discussing Wild Arms, but nevertheless, this is a beautifully crafted song, and one of my first exposures to the soundtrack of Wild Arms 5.

I prefer the clean original song - Carpenters - Sing
I love the Carpenters, my parents used to have music from them on the car during big trips. Another one of my favs is Top of the World

Goddamn.. Why wasnt music like this in LoS instead of generic western big orchestra sound.
Pachislot Akumajō Dracula - Trezire de Spirit

I love Castlevania for the high energy, power inducing or atmospheric melodies and LoS completely ditched that away. Im a butthurt fan but I will stll give those games a chance.
I can't believe they reduced this masterpiece to a motherfuckin slot game.

One of Nintendo's worst decisions (IMO) in the last decade was to declare that they'd be limiting the number of soundtracks they'd release. Lots of their games aren't getting OST releases. Twilight Princess was a notorious one. Another one that ABSOLUTELY deserves its own attention, but didn't get it: Kirby's Epic Yarn.

This soundtrack is all kinds of amazing.

Here's a pick: Deep-Dive Deep.

Wild ARMs V remains the only game in the series I haven't played (more than the intro), and I hate myself a little more every day for it. I need to go find a copy. This music is outstanding.

And I actually love the composers that took Naruke's place. She's fantastic too, but their styles definitely fit the series well.

EDIT

another fantastic thing about Terrible Monster Wrecking Crew is around  is that around 2 minutes, you get a few phrases of the original Wild ARMs' boss theme. OH MAH GOD

Where exactly in the Wild ARMs Boss theme are you referring to? I can't quite seem to put my ear on it (perhaps I'm loosing my hearing sooner than thought!). :)

And since we are talking about one of my favorite series, here's my contribution: Wild ARMS Advanced 3rd "Wild Bunch" (extended ver)

Whenever this track turns up on my music player and my sis is around, I hunch my shoulders over and start snapping my fingers (the reaction is always priceless). I do this because once it gets to the battle part of the track (~0:59) I always get a West Side Story vibe. I can imagine the seven fighting, with a group of thugs surrounding them and amusingly snapping their fingers while grunting. You got the Morricone flavor, might as well add a pinch of Bernstein. ;)

I wouldn't have noticed the WA1 boss theme since I found it...kinda generic compared to the pretty riveting battle theme.  That, and I *loved* how bosses would BLOW UP and reward you with that fuckign awesome victory theme.  ...My mind wanders.

Anyways, I LOVE that first WA3 boss theme.  The soft banjo twang works well against the heavy piano and that awesome "VROM" sound.
