I'm trying to find the song that was used for the last of us commercials, since it wasn't used in the soundtrack. It's the 31 second commercial where towards the last third the beat picks up and becomes more action-like. Anyone know who made it or what it's called?

Sorry, no idea D.

Best game intro cinematic ever: Into the Wilderness
(I'm sure it's already been posted, but this song deserves it)

Dunno if you've found it, but is this it?

Never heard that one. Very impressive. I still prefer "Time's Scar" from Chrono Cross, though.

I'd like "Time's Scar" more if it didn't have that one minute intro.  It's not that it's a bad intro, but it's the change of pace (when I want something exciting!!) that means it still takes a minute to get to... =/
I actually made a cut of the song that "gets to the point" a bit faster.  But yeah, totally phenominal.

But I can't help but love WA1's Into the Wildnerness either... it's one of those "it was my first PSX game" moments that did it.

@Agent D.: This commercial? I looked around seeing if I found something but that part with the beats can be heard in track 3 in the soundtrack at 2:20, it doesn't sound as it does in the commercial but is the closest thing I could find.

Going back to game music used on websites, this track from SMT3: Nocturne was used for the game's website along with the Lucifer's Call artwork showing the Demi-fiend with all the fiends, and it really impressed upon me the game's atmosphere and sense of mystical apocalypse. And due to the game's difficulty (which was amplified because of my lack of experience with the SMT franchise at the time), every time the track popped up in the game I knew that I was about to be fucked up.

I absolutely love that track. I also love the DDS2 version, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcXOk3iKQa0

This is why I love SMT boss fights so much. Boss fights should have this much build-up, and you should be fighting for your life. <3

Which nodes are you missing? Let me guess: "kill a boatload of submarines and trains that only appear in one level" amirite?

I got 'em all. And I really enjoyed that game. But some of those achievements were snoooooze-fest boring.
