I'm a sucker for credit rolls that just use a variation of a game's main theme(s):

Final Fantasy XIII
Kingdom Hearts 2
Tales of Vesperia
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

And of course, after pouring 80 hours into it over the past two weeks, I cannot exclude Tales of Graces

I think Xenosaga II had an underrated soundtrack.  I liked Shinji Hosoe's pieces, such as Ormus Stronghold: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGsyXUaIz9o

Love FFIV's overworld/main theme.
And it's boss fights.  - I just remembered how old this theme can get when you have to keep fighting the Mind/Breath and Death Mask creatures in the final dungeon. Great XP though.

Whenever I think of truly good music that exists in our world..... My head immediately jumps to "Bitter Dance".

...On a serious note, I do like when it kinda "lightens up" in the end.

Love FFIV's overworld/main theme.
And it's boss fights.

The former was when I started to really enjoy game music, but I loved Troian Beauty even more for creating a lovely 16bit map.  And....um, I learned how to play the song on accordion. yaay
The latter gives me nightmares because some of the bosses in FFIV suck major moose balls.
I like the battle with the four fiends theme though.... it conveys the appropriate amount of distress when fighting them.

FF7's Fight On deserves some love too.  Mainly because the 30 second point rocks.

I love the Vesperia's take on Ring a Bell, it's probably one of the most chill/catchy ending tunes.
I also thought Tales of Graces' end theme was the best version of "White Wishes".... BoA can't sing in English very well...

Throwing FF12's ending in for good measure.  FF12 also has my favorite logo image of the series.

And to expand your OST know-how, here's some Falcom end credits for Zwei II....it sounds like a mix of the ToV ending with something "new world" and adventerous sounding

Agree with all points. Especially that the elemental fiends theme is very fitting for those battles. Trojan Beauty would be very interesting on accordion! That's cool!

Haven't heard any FFVII music in a long time... I should replay that sucker. Been years. Just the idea of the tedium of chocobo breeding makes me want to punch something, but I would do it anyway, cuz I would want my Knights of the Round summon before fighting any of the weapons.

EDIT: Also wanted to add a few more from the Lunar series.
Eternal Blue Opening - one of the my favorite pieces in all of video game-dom. No, not the version with lyrics. That's just awful.
I've always loved this piece, since I bought the Sega CD version new almost 20 years ago... Sh** time flies. I like the "complete" version better, hence the link.

On the flipside, I prefer the Sega CD version of Promenade. It's more upbeat.

The original Sega CD version of Silver Star: Vane theme - Always liked this one, too. Nothing really stands out about it. It's a bit somber, actually. I just really dig it, though.

Tokitowa may be a terrible game (and its soundtrack is nothing great), but there is ONE shining gem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyvDau-o8UY

Breath of Fire IV - Truth and Dreams

Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter - Lift

Breath of Fire IV time

I love Truth and Dreams.  There's something very nostalgic about it.  It's a lovely yet poignant melody.  I actually loved the game for taking you to the strangest places, it felt almost like an old school fairy tale.

Kudos to BoFIV for taking Maurice Ravel's "Pavane for a Dead Princess" and using it in game as well. The song is both beautiful yet sad and used for a really peculiar part in the game.  It's not everyday a game incorporates actual classical music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGbKecflE1k&feature=share&list=PL414272F09DE61244
Also throwing up Fou-Lu's battle theme.  Great character, and not often again to see a game use a goddamn citar.... in a battle theme no less!!  (and BoFIV had some good battle tunes).

Breath of Fire V rep

http://youtu.be/eF-yM6MTLQg
Silver Sound always gets me.  There's something cold and sad about this tune that strikes me every time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4Kroakbdqw&feature=share&list=PL91C55D8D730E70BC
Won't lie, I used this ditty when I booted up Windows.  Sounded damn fine

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwiMOv59fpw&feature=share&list=PL91C55D8D730E70BC
The Upper Layer Area.  I love how boisterous this song is, appropriate for the, almost literal, "upper crust" of underground society.  But I much prefer...

http://youtu.be/jpcPpWlg4c0
The Middle Layer Area counters the above with something more thoughtful and calm.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BksX_ISV5q0&feature=share&list=PL91C55D8D730E70BC
Electric Power Building is one of those songs that's amazing, but you can't half-ass it.  You gotta listen from the start and listen to the tune build up.  It's a really cool, inspiring dungeon theme that's not without still making you feel a bit anxious.... hell, all the dungeons did to some extent.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pPDs-EyL6Q&feature=share&list=PL91C55D8D730E70BC
Small Departure.  For a game that likes to throw a lot of grief your way, some of the more positive and sweet tunes can mean a lot.  This was definitely one of them -- and I think this plays when you finally became a complete party.

Other goods:

http://youtu.be/J50Kq_kRrjI
Star Ocean 3 -- Calm Mind Reflected in the Pupil.  FIND A MORE CHILL SONG, I DARE YA.  This song is just ridiculously serene, relaxing, and lovely.  It suits the city you're in very much.

http://youtu.be/NrebiFzG2lA
Eternal Sonata -- Continuous Divider.  To go one with chill songs, here's a "chill dungeon"; it's quite lovely.... quite frankly though so is the whole damn soundtrack.  Hard to explain, but there's a feeling of "meaningful-ness" in this tune that is both courageous and calm.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcotTRJhQ44&feature=share&list=PL68E09FBCFDD19453
More Sakuraba; Baten Kaitos -- Gentle Wind.  I am a big fan of relaxing or exciting music.  Sad or "mysterious" tunes tend to get locked out of my play list, I'm less interested in them.  I really, really love Sakuraba and his ability to create these relaxing tunes that take me what feels like a million miles away and this is certainly one of those tracks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JfDxq2z3io&feature=share&list=PL68E09FBCFDD19453
Baten Kaitos -- Rumbling of the Earth.  For the lack of any guitar or heavy instruments, this song is damn thrilling.  I love the use of chants and vocals to sort of emphasize the "earthiness" part as well.

Speaking of the Duodecim soundtrack (over in the What's The Haps? thread) This is by far the best arranged Final Fantasy battle theme ever:

Fight 1

I just love how whimsical it is; I find myself dancing in my chair a bit every time I hear it. And that part from 1:08-1:18 just fits in so perfectly.
