Speaking of the Duodecim soundtrack (over in the What's The Haps? thread) This is by far the best arranged Final Fantasy battle theme ever:

Fight 1

I just love how whimsical it is; I find myself dancing in my chair a bit every time I hear it. And that part from 1:08-1:18 just fits in so perfectly.

That's really cool. Beautiful, even. I like it. Hell, I like anything that has to do with FFIV music.

Maybe it's because we weren't given the opportunity to hear the song as much as Japan, but I'm also a real sucker for FFV's battle theme.  When I played Final Fantasy V for the first time (around when FF9 was out) it sounded so.....um, exotic?  Kinda this weird game that got left behind but still felt familiar.  I'm kinda romanticizing it, but I really loved FFV when I finally got to it.

I generally like most of the battle themes.  I've oddly fell "out of love" for Laguna's FF8 theme though (heard it too much?) and FFX's, to me, is the least memorable.

X's battle theme is kinda hard to fall in love with. Especially when before hearing the main battle theme you hear "Hurry!!", that track had all intensity that the main battle theme never had...

Yeah.  FFX's song isn't bad, just really generic.  It has a good rhtyhm, but there's nothing particularly complicated to make it stnad out.  'Hurry', on the other hand....  Yeah, it's definitely a much more interesting tune.

I also love the summon battle theme -- again, it provides a great sense of intensity and urgency, and it incorporates the "main religious tune" damn nicely

Oh man, "eyes the color of dreams" from FSB90. I should've known it was Bananarama all along.

I've been in a DKC mood.  Recently played DKC Returns.  Might revisit others soon.

Jungle Groove (Donkey Kong Country)*
Stickerbrush Symphony (Diddy's Kong Quest)
Lockjaw's Saga (Diddy's Kong Quest)
Enchanted Riverbank (Dixie Kong's Double Trouble)
Palm Tree Groove (Donkey Kong Country Returns)**
Music Madness (Donkey Kong Country Returns)***

*that song, along with 10-15 others, is remixed brilliantly in Donkey Kong Country returns.  Worth checking out.
**this is one of several jazzy remixes of Jungle Groove / Jungle Hijinks.  Most of the silhouette stages use a jazzy version like this one.
***that's a remix of Fear Factory from DKC, and the stage has its obstacles and enemies moving in time to the music.  It's fantastic.

Radiant Historia - Rebellion This may be known as the music signalling a bad end but I would easily put it up there with the various battle themes in Radiant Historia.

FF VI - Figaro Castle/ Edgars Theme

Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter - Calling from a Distance

The World Ends With You - Hybrid
