I love this one.  The start of it really gets me pumped.  Even though.....  Ah, whatever, excellent homage to the grate Morricone!
Shit, that reminds me, the album quality of the Wild Arms OST (the first game) was out of this world.  FF7 sounded like dogshit midi half the time, but the Wild Arms OST was a real cut above the rest.

Twilight Princess Boss Music --- Link's "Winning" Theme.
Short, but I loved this as "Zelda's version of Shadow of the Colossus' winning theme.  It's not as impressive, but I find it's catchy and really worked in the heat of the moment.

With respect to OCRemix....argh, I'm torn.  Too much stuff goes to OONTZ OONTZ OONTZ, it drives me crazy.  Naturally, the bits I do like I *love* and have served as awesome alternates to more "old school" sounding game tracks.

Yep, Naruke did a great job synthesizing that Morricone Flavor into her WA soundtracks. It's funny you bring up that video, because it's the same video I start off people wanting to know more about WA music or Naruke's influences. What's even better is when a composer borrows from themselves and haves fun with their themes and make new ones. I refer specifically to these two tracks:

Wild ARMs 3 - Only The Night Sky Knows
Wild ARMS 4 - Starlight and the Passing Breeze

Beautiful melodies.

I'm still waiting for my Wild Arms 4 soundtrack to come in the mail...anticipating it greatly. I've been playing the game since last week and enjoying every moment. It's odd, because originally I wasn't impressed too much with the soundtrack, but now I can't put it down. I'm very pleased with it as a whole, especially the battle themes (very typical of me ;)). One particular track I adore is "The Shining Spear Pierces the Darkness"

The overall track is incredibly pleasing to me on a passive and attentive listening basis. Passively, this track kicks all kinds of butt. Literally riddled with 'orchestral hit' samples, timpani, percussion, great wonderful cymbal crescendos, electric guitar, rock organ--and those infectious rhythms! Attentively, I love that intro (0:00-0:04). It's a F# Hexatonic Blues scale (F#, A, B, B#/C, C# [no e in this intro however]), no? Another special treat about this track I love is that they use the music box instrument (starts at 0:33) that is heard whenever Kresnik opens the music box he carries with him. That's it for me for now about that track...

It's funny, but that Link 'winning theme' is very goofy sounding to me, like it doesn't belong in Twilight Princess (perhaps wind waker?). I think it is that the boss music that plays is very menacing and when this pop up, it just breaks that suspense/ambiance.

FF X-2 Opening Theme

This is probably my favourite piece in the entire game. I spend ages at the loading screen just listening to it play.

I feel like this conversation happened at some point:

"So, we're all in favor of making a direct sequel to Final Fantasy X?"
"Of course! I've even already composed this theme music for it."
"Oh wow! That's beautiful!"
"Okay, now what's the sequel going to be about...?"

I love the song too, but I also gotta throw some kudos to the visuals.  No fancy video (hell, I think the opening FMV did..."enough" in that regard), no pretty effects, no big narrative.  Just the main players and the item that represents them.  Perfect.

Bravely Default - The Snake that Devours the Horizon

I actually think this is the most PERFECT final boss theme I've heard in *years*.  It's got that touch of evil/creepy that you need for a big finale, but I love how it turns into a medley by the end combining the game's main theme, I think the overworld theme, and the each of the main character's themes (in order from respective parts of their songs).

Also, being live, I love that you see the musicians (one being what looks like a 70-year-old flutist).

The following pieces are from G-Senjou no Maou. This VN's soundtrack is almost entirely consists of arranges of classical music. I really like the highly moody pieces, here are some of them
G-Senjou no Maou - Fushoku
G-Senjou no Maou - Rakujitsu
G-Senjou no Maou - Yuki #1

The last 3 are are more upbeat but still moody
G-Senjou no Maou - The Devil
Asai Gonzou
G-Senjou no Maou - Nigeba Nashi

I feel like.... I understood you...as a real live human being for a split second.  T'was beautiful.

Idiocy aside, heck yeah.  The podcasts were wonderful and gave me great company between classes.  Always great to see other game music enthusiasts, and the tracks are choice.  Bravo!

Professor Layton & The Azran Legacy.  A more somber and beautiful version of the "London Underground" (neverwhere!? jk) from the third game.  The theme builds up nicely.

I'd add more butt too tired

I've been playing Rudra no Hihou lately. It's a real shame it was never localized; it has a lot of really unique features and feels a lot like FF6. And, while most of the songs are a bit short, the music is excellent.

Sword of the Valiant (world map theme, Sion's scenario)
Strange Encounters (boss theme, Sion's scenario)
Crime of the Heart (world map theme, Riza's scenario)
The Spirit Chaser (boss theme, Surlent's scenario)
Sanctuary (dungeon theme)
Downfall (game over theme)
King of the Mountain (dungeon theme)
The Auarians (dungeon theme)
Earth Bound (world map theme in a specific area)

The Spirit Chaser is an awesome song. I love the Battle SQ remix of that.

Xenosaga Episode 2 - Battle Theme

Love this battle theme, one of my favourites. It's slow to pickup but it has an extremely catchy "chorus" part, the one that starts at 1:05. Very fond of it and the sound effects/things character say when they attack come to mind.
