If Gematsu is to be believed, its for skills, not magic of either kind.

But I still prefer my theory of it being a stealth colour adjuster for thy monitour.

This game looks ugly as sin... I feel offended in some sense.
In this world is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcedental entity or law? is it like the hand of god hovering above? Perhaps Man has no control even over his own will…

It's funny, you know.  I've played and enjoyed plenty of budget games with simplistic, limited, and technically poor graphics so I don't really think I'm a graphics whore or anything.  But this just looks so bad.  It's not just the technical aspect but the fact that it's lacking any artistic sense.  It's generic and uninspired...and then on top of that, implemented in the most technically poor way possible.

If this is anything like From the Abyss, then it'll be all that plus as bare-bones and featureless as possible.

You know what that header image reminds me?
Summoner.

Except I actually enjoyed Summoner.

I know I shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but holy crap that's one fuck ugly cover.

I've seen one man Unity projects look better than this.

I'm just glad they're shoving this out the door ASAP so that we can all stop talking about this ASAP.

I don't know, it's kind of fun to discuss walking disasters in action.

I mean, don't get me wrong, for the most part I don't care about graphics, it's just this screams low budget all around.  It's also confusing.  You'd think Aksys would co-develop something that would appeal to the audience they normally target.

To be fair, I was being pedantic.

Also, MindZero is pretty much a bargain bin dungeon crawler with allusions to Persona so that kinda fits within this.

I can't believe that is the real cover.  Is this just a really elaborate joke?

Hadn't really seen any reviews for this yet. Then saw this:

http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2014/02/27/magus-review-ps3/

It's not a particularly well-written review, but it is hilarious to read - even if only for the score at the bottom.

Jesus Christ. That review.  Not even the number, just the review.

Funny review until it brings up controlling a white male like that's some horrible thing.  Replace "white" with "black" in the review text and tell me how that looks.  Ridiculous.

I don't think the reviewer was saying it was bad because the character is white, it's bad because the main character looks exactly like the generic space marine archetype. If the guy was black, that would at least be a departure from the incredibly generic character design.

It really sounded that way.  The fixation on skin color instead of just saying something like "why not have a customizable character?" is telling.  Black skin wouldn't magically make a generic character design appealing.  "Why did the main character have to be a white male?"  I dunno, why did he have to be human at all?  Why can't he be a flying lobster?  It's a stupid question.
