I'm happy it's getting a physical release at all. I genuinely wasn't expecting it.

Was just reminded at work yesterday that this game comes out the same day as Madden. I am going to love picking this up from the store. The looks will be worth every penny.

So who's playing this now?  It's mega-addictive!

It is. I knew I would enjoy it, but I'm enjoying it far more than I thought I would. I haven't even touched Dragon's Crown or Tales of Xillia since I picked it up.

So I just learned that if you have a dual input, you should press both buttons every time.
I used to hold the arrow and then press the button. You get bonus points if you mash both buttons every time.

I think you'll find that at higher difficulties you're better off hitting both buttons each time anyway, because you'll be rapidly switching between different inputs.  At lower difficulties you get a bunch of those two-button things in a row so it's tempting to hold one button, but it doesn't stay that way.  It's actually a bad habit to be in.

I played the demo again since I realized I still had it. I finally got used to the gameplay in it and cleared all the stages on the lowest difficulty, which took me about a half hour. I gotta say, this game is fun, but I really can't stand Miku's voice. Everyone else is fine, but Miku's sounds way too artificial and it drives me crazy. At least when I get in the zone I don't notice it.

...shit, now I'm seeing circles and stars flying everywhere...

You take that back!

Vocaloid voices actually change a lot depending on how the composer tunes them.  Miku can sound really good in the right hands.  And don't forget that some composers intentionally play up the artificial aspect.  Which songs have you been playing?  I forget what's actually in the demo...

It's actually the Kagamines that bother me.  I don't care for their voices at all...

Megurine Luka sounds awful in every song I've done.
It's even worst in her room.

Some singers are mixed too low that you can hardly hear them.  And, yeah, depending on the composer, sometimes the vocals sound more "auto tuned" than others.

The demo has Weekender Girl, Tengaku, and World's End Dance Hall.

Ha! I actually don't mind Miku OR the Kagamine Twins OR Luka.

Meiko is just awful, though. Go figure.

I actually really like Luka's voice...in some songs.  I don't think the selection of Luka songs in F is that great, though.  There were some good ones in earlier games (like Double Lariat, which is actually the song I blame for me getting into Vocaloid music in the first place...).

They need more stuff like this.  Or this.  Or more recently, this.

Well, you have to understand that Meiko is old.  In fact, she's the first Vocaloid Crypton ever made.  She's built on the original Vocaloid 1 engine, along with Kaito.  The rest are using Vocaloid 2, which was a pretty major improvement.

But anyway, the best Vocaloid isn't any of these.  It's IA ;)

I get the feeling any musician out there who's dealt with egotistical singers and is over that nonsense is all over Vocaloid.  I mean, it's a singer-in-a-box.

I'll admit that one was the best I've heard out of her, but it's still grating at points. I'm not just talking about the games either, I've listened to quite a bit of Vocaloid music, and I never seem to like Miku's voice in any of them.

The Weekender Girl is the song that features her in the demo, btw. (Coincidentally, I did that one last, and still did the worst out of any of the songs...) The other two sound great, though.
