We're slowly shifting into the Buy n Large world in Wall-E.
Within 100 years, Disney will own all entertainment, even anime.

A great chill just spread across every otaku in the world.

Look on the bright side, maybe anime will finally have decent lip-synching and frame rates.

Ugh... even as a joke that's sounds depressing.

358/2 Days will not appear in playable form, and will instead feature the Nintendo DS game adapted into 2 hours and 50 minutes worth of cinematic retelling.

lol. Why would they include this at all? Especially with KH2 not being included. (It comes before 358/2, right?)

I never beat the first Kingdom Hearts so I'll probably give this HD remaster a go

^ 358/2 Days takes place during the latter half of Chain of Memories and fills in the gap between the end of that game and the beginning of KH2. The story is almost a completely moot point to the rest of the series, though, so I agree it's a rather pointless endeavor.

Because of 2.5 ReMIX and all that.

*looks at DVD collection*
*looks at unlicensed collection*
*realizes by and large Japan has failed to produce much of anything beyond 'Meh' in the past 10-ish years by their own merits, sans once in a blue moon bulls eyes* (Before anyone starts pointing out titles keep in mind what I'm saying is the ratio of good/crap weighs heavily towards crap; not that there 'isn't good'.)
*realizes Disney owns Marvel, did the Avengers movie, and has several sub companies to filter out projects that are too risque to slap the family-friendly label on*

...I'd dig it. It could only help the Anime medium at this point to get some decent writers and artists with their heads not shoved 10 ft up their horn-dog market base's prostates.

Edit: Hmm...might be being overly harsh here. Still going to let this one fly though.

One of the problems is that videogames are seen to be a kids'/teens' hobby in Japan, hence the appeal to lower age demographics, and thus making it painful for older gamers such as myself to play JRPGs at times.

Has Square Enix said anything about the music in 1.5 HD Remix? I know listening to the KH version of Dearly Beloved and the BBS version are night and day.

According to 1.5's Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Hearts_1.5), the music will use live instrumentation as opposed to the PS2's built-in tone generator.

You also hear Goofy in Japanese....it's....'amazing' sounding to say the least.

I didn't think they would and it's been some time since I played the original, but yeah....certainly sounds like they remastered it (I'm loving the new-oboe used for Traverse Town's theme).
