170 fucking hours, a platinum trophy, and a no deaths!

5 minutes in the regalia type f and I crash into a lightpolr and get my first game over...

But its a fantasy based on reality! Feel the realism.

The Regalia Type-F is such a pointless addition. Like, I get that they wanted to show they were listening to fan feedback, but it's so token and barely usable that I can only question the decision to spend resources on it.

A+ Back to the Future reference, though, Noctis. :)

So, for some reason I can't trigger the Conceal, Don't Feel side quest.  I went to the barn northwest of the Three Valleys parking spot and I never hear the hunter's cry for help.  Anyone know what to do?

I've taken a break on the game. I think I'm going to just have to start bypassing some of these hunts/fetch quests because I'm just not having the fun with them like I did in XCX. The world isn't all that fun to explore and I think the exploration aspect of the game should have a bit more fantasy in its reality. By that I mean say climbing to the top of a scenic mountain and jumping off kind of stuff. FFS Noct can barely make it over a guardrail. The story is fine and I like the characters a lot. I still don't really know what I'm exactly doing in these battles though even though I haven't died yet. That being said I'm pretty good at setting my own characters on fire.

You know what, I'm giving this game the nod over 8 and 9, epic as all get-out.

Also does anyone know what this track that plays during this moment? It's crazy short... can't seem to find it.

With exceptions, I kinda feel that way about turn-based....
C'est la vie.

Turn based combat requires me to think. Holding the pwn button till i win and occasionally holding square to dodge is brain dead.

Turn-Based combat fan here. Neither turn-based nor action games make me think much.

I ain't playin Dr Whatshisfaces Brain Training.

Action tends to be a bit trial and errory, or button mashy.

Turn-based can be a bit "What's the weakpoint? Ok, expoit that forever".

Neither genres are more cerebral than the other, it's just something that's been increasingly bugging me over time.

Turn-based peope like to paint themselves as the Chess masters of the RPG world.

Action players like to paint themselves as the Korean Starcraft 2 mechanics masters of the RPG world.

They are just two styles of game ya'll, one ain't any better than the other, it's all just personal preference.

There's fun in both Thinking Deeply and Thinking Quickly.

That's a very subjective experience, though. Action-based combat requires tactical thinking, where Turn-based requires strategic thinking. They're different, and I think it's ridiculous to frame one as thoughtful and the other as "brain-dead".

Couldn't agree more with Star.
I like both systems but pretending that turn based combat is a deep multifaceted mental effort is kind of a joke.

Had the worst time with this game. Just as bad as FF13 but for different reasons.

I very rarely post on these forums, an enthusisatic lurker though. But I'll break my silence just because I wanted to brag I finished the game and got my first ever platinum trophy. I loved the game, took me a while to get into it but by the end I actually cared about all of the characters. The only negative for me was the combat, I just couldn't get to grips with it enough to enjoy it. Especially that
Spoiler: show
two hour battle against the adamantoise, after 1 hour of button mashing that was just dull and stressful at the same time

I'll try the free dlc this week but after that I cant see myself replaying it. It was a seriously beautiful game though.

Fun fact - 20 years since FF7 game out, my first play of the series, and I now discover that all this time I've been pronouncing Chocobo wrong. Unless Noctis is just getting it wrong :)
