Everyone I know interested in this game only ever talks about the Vita version, but I'm completely skipping those for the PS3 version. I know the Vita screen is amazing and the game will look just fine, but I'd much rather play FFX on the big screen

I actually saw the Japanese version for sale in Seoul, and I was somewhat tempted to grab it because I already know the story.
Either way, I'm waiting for the big screen version like you. I didn't get an HD monitor for nothing!

Just thinking out the X/X2 remasters and wondering what the chances are we're going to a remaster of 13 1-3 for PS4/XBO while they're working on FF15?

I want Square Enix computers with FF13 data to be buried in a deep hole and remembered never so they can start fresh.

I wonder if the deep hate/annoyance people have showed online with the XIII series is gonna last as long as the complaining about Final Fantasy VIII and X-2 has (which is something I always find pretty amazing).

I'm past the point of taking "The endless battle on forums and gaming sites about how much FF/SQEX sucks nowadays and how FFVI was the best game ever, or whatever" seriously anymore. I still enjoy my time with the mainline series and that's enough for me.

I want Square Enix computers with FF13 data to be buried in a deep hole and remembered never so they can start fresh.

Well that sort of happened with some of the earlier Kingdom Hearts games and that didn't stop them to do a remastered version of those titles for PS3.

Even though this thread is way off topic, I would like to say something about why I like FFXIII since Dice brought it up.

I see it less as an RPG and more as it's own beast. The "dungeons" are more like stages in a platformer or FPS with RPG elements and all the post-game elements the extra challenge missions or whatever. This way the developers could design each encounter to be less of a random annoyance and more of an obstacle to get past. Each battle brought a new set of challenges and were tailored to be increasingly more difficult as you made your way through that particular area and throughout the game as a whole.

In summary, and said much better by other people on the Internet, I thought FFXIII was a below average Final Fantasy, but a fantastic game.

I don't judge anyone who likes FFXIII. Though I have a feeling they judge me plenty for not liking it. :P

Considering my hatred of hypocrisy, if I judged anyone for their tastes in video games I think I would have been lynched by now.

Oh they're fun, lots of fun. Just FAR from classics that I think the way the series has otherwise been known for.

This is just adorable. :3

I don't condemn your opinion Dice (yeah I saw the post before it got edited), you have every right to feel like that with the XIII series. But seriously the criticism got pretty ridiculous a long time ago. Not that I'm saying that XIII is the best or anything like that, but the fact that you can't say online in a bunch of sites that you enjoy this series of games without someone coming and saying that you are moron with no standards is silly to say the least.

I mean, a few years ago I got my problems with DmC: Devil May Cry but nowadays I really don't care. The game didn't meet expectations and the repercussion that left on the fanbase was messy but despite that there were people who like that game a lot and is totally cool with me since my problems with DmC at the time came from how Capcom, Ninja Theory and a lot of the press handle the whole deal so poorly and with no care at all going as far as insulting the original fans of DMC in more than one occasion.

---

I see that nobody has talked here yet about the faces of the remastered version of FFX/X-2 HD.

I said they're fun, the music is very good, the graphics are also phenomenal (except for NPCs.in LR).

Traveling is a drag, the characters are forgettable and pretentious, and if you like the story I think you'd also like the quality of writing seen in reality television and fan fiction by 16 year olds.  Serah probably won't stay dead, or at least she seems to have just as many lines and plot relevance as she did in at least the first game (anyone else especially happy that Aeris was never brought back to life?), and the epilogue spoilers and enemies don't have me very hopeful that "the third time's a charm". It's an entertaining plot, but I don't think I can call it well written...
On a positive note, I'll at least thankfully add that Square has learned to make the gameplay more interesting with each title.

But dear God, the series has been around too long... I'm kinda just sick of hearing about "FF13 news and updates" every week or so.
